📝 PASSIONATE APPEAL FOR POLITICAL FAIRNESS IN AKOKO EDO

TO: ALL POLITICAL LEADERS, ELDERS, STAKEHOLDERS, AND OPINION MOLDERS OF
AKOKO EDO LGA

Passionate Appeal for Political Fairness and Inclusion – Let Akoko Edo North (Constituency 1) Have Their Fair Share in 2027

Esteemed Leaders and Fathers of Our Great Akoko Edo,

With deep respect and unwavering loyalty, we, the Okpameri Youth Association of Akoko Edo, humbly yet passionately appeal to our revered political leaders, stakeholders, and influencers across all political divides to heed our collective cry for fairness, balance, and inclusion in the distribution of elective opportunities within our Local Government.

As we journey toward the 2027 general elections, we wish to respectfully remind our leaders that equity remains the foundation of peace, unity, and progress. The time has come for Akoko Edo North — Constituency 1 — to be given the opportunity to produce the Member representing Akoko Edo in the Edo State House of Rep(HoR) and Chairman

We are not in any way against anyone’s constitutional right to aspire or contest. However, in the spirit of brotherhood and in respect of our long-standing political gentleman’s understanding, we appeal that this time around, the pendulum of political fairness should swing toward Constituency 1.

Just as Constituency 2 was graciously allowed to enjoy both the Chairmanship and House of Representatives positions in the past, we appeal that the same political fairness and understanding be extended to Constituency 1 in 2027. This is not a demand born of entitlement, but of equity, mutual respect, and the desire for unity and inclusiveness across Akoko Edo.

We are not saying the position should be given to Mr. A or Mr. B, but rather that our zone should be allowed to present the candidate this time around. Let fairness prevail so that no part of Akoko Edo feels politically marginalized or alienated.

We trust in your wisdom, fatherly sense of justice, and commitment to fairness as you consider this heartfelt appeal from the vibrant and peace-loving youth of Okpameri land.

May God bless and guide our leaders as they painstakingly look into our plea for the good of all.

Lampese Youths Install Community Signage
..As Oba Maliki Commends Initiative

Lampese - AS part of her civic responsibility and community engagement, the Lampese Youth Association, under the dorminant leadership of Comr Jolly Lucky Bayode and his executive council, has successfully donated and installed three prominent signage boards at key entry points into Lampese community.

The official unveiling of the signboards took place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, and was led by His Royal Highness, Oba Folaremi Ojo-Maliki, the Onilampese of Lampese Kingdom.

While commissioning the project, Oba Ojo-Maliki praised the youth association for what he described as a “gigantic and visionary project.” He noted that the signage enhances the community’s visibility and identity, while also symbolizing the unity, dedication, and progressive mindset of Lampese youths.

“This project is a shining example of what can be achieved when our youths come together with a common purpose,” the Oba stated. “I encourage you all to continue working together for the greater good of Lampese.”

The monarch further used the platform to preach peace and unity, calling on the youth and all community members to prioritize harmony and collective progress as foundations for sustainable development.

Speaking with Theplatformnews , the National Publicity Secretary of the Lampese Development Association, Comrade Aimanerimi Victor Arogunyo , applauded the initiative. He commended Comrade Bayode and the entire youth body for their commitment, calling the project “groundbreaking.”

“I urge all youths to unite for the collective interest of Lampese,” Arogunyo said.

In his remarks, Comrade Bayode extended heartfelt gratitude to all donors and supporters of the project, stating that their names would hold a special place in the annals of Lampese history. In a reconciliatory tone, he called on all segments of the community to come together in unity.

“This signage project is not just a landmark; it's a symbol of what we can achieve when we are united,” Bayode noted.

The signage installation is part of a broader effort by the current youth leadership to drive sustainable development, community identity, and active youth participation in local growth initiatives.

AKOKO-EDO OBAS DEMANDS FOR CREATION OF MORE LGAS

The Akoko-Edo Traditional Rulers Council has formally submitted a memorandum to the Constitution Review Committee of the National Assembly, requesting the creation of two additional local government areas from the present Akoko-Edo LGA.

Led by the Olokpe of Okpe, the royal delegation proposed the following:

- Akoko-Edo Central with headquarters in Igarra
- Akoko-Edo North with headquarters in Ibillo
- Akoko-Edo South with headquarters in Ososo

The initiative, according to the council, stems from years of communal dialogue, population growth, and the need for better access to governance and development.

The submission signals a renewed push for administrative restructuring in the region, aimed at unlocking economic potential and bringing government closer to the people. It represents a historic step in the quest for inclusive governance in Akoko-Edo.
