On Tuesday, 1st day of February, 2024, news broke out on the internet of a lady by name; Adachukwu Okafor, allegedly a lawyer and a pastor who battered a girl of 11 years by name; Miss Happiness given to her by one Mrs Ifeoma Muoghalu. The bathered girl is a niece to Mrs Ifeoma Muoghalu. The lawyer, Mrs Adachukwu Cukelu Okafor, used knives and hot iron to lacerate the girl's entire body, paying special attention to her buttocks and her private part.

As at the point the news filtered into the internet, the girl couldn't walk at all.

The government of Anambra State with the Ministry of Women Affairs took Miss Happiness to General Hospital Enugu-Ukwu where she is being treated.

The lawyer is yet to be found, and there are intense efforts to find the fleeing lawyer and pastor.

We have a lot of such case in FIDA Anambra, and we are already partnering with the Government of Anambra State with the Ministry of Women Affairs to see that justice is done in this case. FIDA Anambra is already taking part in the investigation and prosecution of the case. This is because FIDA paid a visit to the battered child at General Hospital Enugu-Ukwu, where we uncovered another crime. Mrs Ifeoma Muoghalu, the elder sister to the battered girl's mother, did not allow the mother to stay with her daughter in the hospital. All the monies the government, good spirited individuals, and organisations raised for the child were all diverted by Mrs Ifeoma Muoghalu, the same lady that gave out the child to the fleeing lawyer and she is still in constant communication with the fleeing lawyer.

FIDA Anambra, through the help of the police arrested Mrs Ifeoma Muoghalu with one Mr. Ikechukwu who opened a fund raising platform for the child and also diverted the funds raised.
FIDA Anambra is monitoring the investigation

We wonder why parents would always subject their children to such man inhumanity to man.

We appreciate our government's efforts for taking the lead in this case, the Ministry of Women Affairs and all good spirited Ndi Anambra who brought the victim to the limelight.

Anambra State must be free of all forms of violence.
