ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE: ABEET GRADUATING CLASS DEFENDS FINAL YEAR PROJECTS WITH INNOVATIVE AGRI-TECH SOLUTION

They came with calculations, prototypes, and a dream. They left with handshakes, accolades, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing they had built something that could change lives.

On Wednesday, October 14th, 2026, the Department of Agric and Bio-Environmental Engineering (ABEET), FCFM Afaka-Kaduna, held its external defense for graduating students—and it was nothing short of impressive.

At the heart of the defense was a remarkable feat of engineering: a Multi-Crop Threshing Machine capable of processing five major staple crops—Soya Beans, Corn, Sorghum, Millet, and Rice.

Key Specifications:

· Capacity: 180kg/hr
· Efficiency: 66%

In a country where post-harvest losses threaten food security, this innovation speaks directly to the needs of Nigerian farmers.

The event was graced by two distinguished external examiners:

· Engr. Bolaji Olajide – Industry Expert
· Engr. Nuhu Garba – Kaduna Polytechnic

Their insights challenged the students to think deeper and defend their work with confidence. They commended the department for producing graduates who are not just theoretically sound, but practically skilled.

This defense stands as proof that FCFM Afaka is equipping students to solve real-world problems. The future of Nigerian agriculture is in capable hands—and it looks beautifully engineered.

Congratulations to our graduating class. You have made us proud.
