Dynamism in Christian missions: Christian Missions, a must – Mt 28:19 (Go ye, therefore, and teach ALL NATIONS, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: {make disciples or Christians of all nations})

Our History

May 20, 1995: Inauguration as The Battle Axe Campus Missions at Abeokuta, Nigeria

1996: Evolution of Student Mission Club (student's arm) & The Battle Axe (non-student arm)

2011: Change of name to the Foundation for Student Mission

2013: Change of the name of the non-student arm to The Wise League

THE VISION AND THE GENESIS

The demand of God on this present generation is to raise a great number of virile Christian missionaries and a host of mission-minded believers as partners for these; in seeing the Lord Jesus enthroned in many places of the world. It is quite sad that a great number of Christian students are turned out every session on campuses with little or no understanding of missions. This hitherto reduced the effective workforce for missions. The mandate God gave Foundation for Student Mission is to raise the workforce for mission agencies and mission-oriented churches by mobilizing and equipping Christian students for missions. This is done in conjunction with several mission agencies and mission-oriented churches. It is expected that as the students are exposed and acquainted with various mission works, it will be easier for them to be part of any of these after their graduation. OBJECTIVES OF FSM

a. Mobilizing and equipping Christian students for missions

b. Sustenance of missionary zeal of students on campuses and the non-student members in cities where the campuses are located. Act as a support base for many mission agencies and mission-oriented churches, raising resources for mission works. MEMBERSHIP

Foundation for Student Mission membership cut across many Christian fellowships and denominations. Members are bound together by a burning desire of seeing the whole world evangelized, starting from their ‘Jerusalems’. Membership comprises both students and non-students (from different mission agencies and mission-oriented churches). Non-students act as facilitators for the student-members in a specific area of missions.

He gave up what he could not keep to gain what he could not lose!

Imagine standing on a riverbank, knowing that the people you’re trying to reach might take your life. That was the reality for Jim Elliot.

Jim was a brilliant student who chose a remote jungle over a comfortable career. He believed the people of Ecuador deserved to hear the Name of Jesus, no matter the cost.

His story reminds us that the safest place to be isn't in a comfortable dorm room—it’s in the centre of God’s will. Students, your life is too valuable to waste on the temporary.

Tag/mention a friend who needs a reminder to live boldly for Christ today.

PS:
Matthew 16:25 (NLT): "If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will find it."

Hope Reaches New Kuchingoro IDP Camp: A Report from Abuja Urban Outreach 2025

On Monday, December 29, 2025, the love of Christ brought comfort and renewed hope to the New Kuchingoro Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Abuja.

The Abuja Urban Outreach 2025, organised by the FSM Abuja Chapter (The Wise League and the Student Mission Club), successfully engaged 162 people—100 adults and 62 children—many of whom are displaced from Borno, Kaduna, and Jos. In a context of loss and uncertainty, the message of the Gospel proved to be God's answer to both spiritual and human need.

We are overjoyed to report that, by God’s grace, four individuals made the life-changing decision to accept the life of Christ, and many others were encouraged and strengthened in their faith. This success is a testament to the power of unity, made possible through the faithful partnership of local churches, including ECWA Church, EYN Church, and COCIN Church, and the generous support of Christian friends.

Join Us in the Mission:
We invite you to partner with us!
1.Pray: Please pray that the seeds sown will bear lasting fruit and that those reached will grow in faith and community.
2.Partner: Consider supporting our ongoing efforts as we continue to take the Gospel to underserved urban communities across Nigeria.

Together, we can keep bringing hope to the city, one life at a time.

All glory belongs to God!

What a Christmas! The FSM Oyo State Chapter is celebrating a massive victory from our 2025 Urban Outreach in the Hausa community of Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan!
For two days (Dec 25th & 26th), our team was on the ground, sharing the love of Christ both physically and spiritually.

Day 1: We kicked off Christmas evening with a powerful film show ('Blood Disease') and a time of vibrant Hausa praise and worship!
Day 2: We followed up with a full medical, welfare, and counselling outreach. The results are incredible:
•61 people received care!
•25 precious souls accepted the life of Christ Jesus!
•12 more want to know Jesus better!

A huge thank you to our partners, Scripture Prayer Continental Mission (SPCM), for their support in reaching the community and ensuring follow-up for our new brothers and sisters.

Join us in praying that these new converts will be firmly established in their faith!
(P.S. Swipe to see some amazing photos from the event! - Note: Suggestion for where to place photos)

Campus mission is a specilized form of missions... So, let nobody condemn anyone that God has sent to the campuses to see the campuses as his or her mission field.

We return all glory to God for the success of our Urban Outreach 2025 among the Fulani and Hausa communities in Shasha, Akure.

By God’s grace, what is often seen as one of the most challenging mission fields opened up through a medical outreach. God gave us access into the community.

Prior to the outreach, we had prayers asking for God’s intervention. On the day of the outreach, we witnessed a great turnout, and 25 individuals opened their hearts to salvation.

We have begun weekly follow up visits every Tuesday and we humbly ask for your prayers for the Shasha community and for those who have received Christ, that the fruits will remain.

Maranatha!

A CALL TO ACTION TO MEMBERS OF THE FOUNDATION FOR STUDENT MISSION (FSM)

Calvary greetings to you people of God. As we commence activities of FSM in 2026 with Operation Brother's Keeper (OBK), the starting point for individuals is awakening to missions and renewed commitment.

The Foundation for Student Mission (FSM) was birthed out of a clear divine mandate: to mobilise, disciple, and equip Christian students and youths for missions and kingdom service. Over the years, God has used FSM as a platform to raise passionate labourers for His harvest fields across campuses, churches, and communities. At this crucial season in our journey, there is an urgent need for every FSM member to awaken afresh to the call of missions and to renewed commitment to the organisation.

1. A Call to Spiritual Awakening
FSM is first and foremost a spiritual movement before it is an organisation. Members are therefore called to return to the place of prayer, personal devotion, and sensitivity to God’s heartbeat for the nations. Missions thrive where there is spiritual depth. Let us intentionally seek God’s direction, power, and burden for souls, allowing Him to renew our passion and realign our priorities with His eternal purpose.

2. A Call to Missionary Consciousness
Every FSM member is a missionary—either by going, sending, mobilising, or supporting. Missions is not for a few selected individuals but the collective responsibility of all. Members are called to actively promote mission awareness, participate in outreach programmes, support mission initiatives, and encourage others to respond to God’s call. Where direct involvement is not possible, faithful support through prayers, resources, skills, and advocacy is equally vital.

3. A Call to Active Participation
FSM can only be as effective as the level of engagement of its members. This is a call to move beyond passive association to active involvement. Members are encouraged to participate in meetings, trainings, outreaches, and strategic activities of FSM at all levels—local, regional, and national. Your gifts, time, ideas, and energy are needed for the growth and sustainability of the mission.

4. A Call to Commitment and Responsibility
Commitment to FSM requires faithfulness, integrity, and accountability. Members are called to uphold the values, vision, and policies of the organisation, to serve willingly where assigned, and to support leadership through cooperation and constructive engagement. Financial stewardship, timely communication, and responsibility in assigned roles are essential for organisational effectiveness.

5. A Call to Unity and Sacrifice
Missions demand unity of purpose and sacrificial living. Members are urged to foster love, teamwork, and mutual respect, setting aside personal interests for the advancement of God’s kingdom through FSM. Let us be willing to pay the price—time, comfort, and resources—for the sake of fulfilling the Great Commission.

Conclusion
This is a defining moment for FSM. The harvest is ripe, the fields are vast, and the opportunities before us are enormous. Now is the time to awaken, arise, and recommit ourselves fully to the mission God has entrusted to FSM. Let every member take personal responsibility and collective action, so that together we may faithfully raise and deploy a generation of mission-minded students and youths for the glory of God.
