ONA ARA EMERGENCY ALERT: SAY NO TO JUNGLE JUSTICE!
We strongly condemn the growing incidents of jungle justice and mob violence in Ona Ara Local Government.
The reported killing of a young man and his brother at Ajia over an alleged incident involving a commercial motorcyclist is deeply disturbing. No allegation, misunderstanding or accident should ever justify taking the law into one’s hands.
If an incident occurs, the proper action is to alert the police and allow due process to take its course. Mob action does not bring back a lost life; it only creates another tragedy.
We call on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to thoroughly investigate the Ajia incident, identify those responsible and ensure that justice is served.
As a community, let us protect lives, reject mob violence and promote peace.
