Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners Of Nigeria - NOAN A non-governmental organization created to serve as an umbrella body for all stakeholders involved in organic agriculture.

Nigerian Organic Agriculture Network (NOAN) is a non-governmental organization created to serve as an umbrella body for all stakeholders involved in organic agriculture in Nigeria. The secretariat of NOAN is presently located at the Department of Agronomy, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. Membership is drawn from scientists, farmers, processors, exporters, individuals, Institutions, NGOs and

organizations that are key players in the organic agriculture sector in Nigeria. NOAN also serves as a link body between organic agriculture stakeholders in Nigeria and international bodies interested in organic agriculture. The activities of NOAN are hinged on these four key thematic areas:

•Capacity building


•Standards and Certification


•Marketing

We have a new Leader at the Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria (NOAN)!

Prof. Olatunji Olayinka and his newly inaugurated team are ready to take the organic and agroecology movement in Nigeria to the next level.

Prof. Olayinka is a distinguished academic and agricultural development expert with a Ph.D. in Soil Science. He brings decades of experience in sustainable land management, agroecology, and climate-smart agriculture. His leadership has been pivotal in advancing organic farming systems, strengthening farmer networks, and shaping national policies that promote environmentally responsible agriculture.

His expertise includes:
- Organic agriculture systems and soil fertility management
- Climate-smart and agroecological farming practices
- Policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement
- Farmer education, training, and capacity development

He is committed to driving the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification, which he will push aggressively to strengthen trust and market access for organic farmers

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Jude C. Obi and his team for their dedicated service and leadership.
Their contributions have laid a strong foundation for the continued growth of organic agriculture in Nigeria.

This transition marks a new era of innovation, collaboration, and sustainability for NOAN and the wider organic agriculture community in Nigeria and Beyond.

The Association's Annual General Meeting was successfully held at Hotel Royal Damgrete, Umuahia, Abia State on April 22 to 24, 2026.

Themed: Harnessing Organic Agriculture and Agroecology for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Food Systems.

The 3 days event had in attendance dignitaries from ministries, private sector, international partners and organisations.

Graduation ceremonies and induction of fellows in AWOLA, IFOAM Agroecology and Organic Agriculture Leadership Course also took place.

There were award presentations to notable actors (like Dr David Amudavi who also made presentation at the Technical Workshop) in organic agriculture at both local and international levels.

The new Governing Board members were elected and presented at the AGM.
