This is a special Jin called "Al-kaboos" that attacks you in your sleep. The symptoms of the attack are when a person is asleep and imagines something heavy pressing upon their chest, squeezing them and constricting their breathing, hence they cannot speak or move, and they are almost suffocated because of the obstruction of their airways. When the Jin goes away, you wake up immediately in a panic gasping for air. Western scientists call this phenomenon "Sleep Paralysis" but Islam has taught us it is, in fact, a Jin that attacks during people's sleep.

So how do we protect our selves from being attacked by this Jin? We follow the Sunnan of how our prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Slept.
1. Sleep in a state of Wudu.
2. Make sure to have prayed all you fard Salah before going to sleep.
3. Before climbing into your bed, dust the bed thrice.
4. Recite Subhanallah 33 times, Alhamdulilah 33times and Allahu Akbar 34 times.
5. Read Ayat Al Kursi
6. Read the 3 Kuls ( Surat Al Ikhals, Al Falaq & An Nas).
7. (If possible In-sha-Allah) Read surat Al Mulk.
8. Sleeping on your right-hand side.

DISCLAIMER: The scholars have stated IF the symptoms continue to persist after you've taken the above actions then they strongly urge you to seek medical advice just in case there is an underline medical problem.

May Allah protect us all from the Jin. Ameen!

Feeling depressed? Read Surah al-Fatiha for yourself as ruqyah. This Surah is the greatest Surah in the Qur'an and a cure for diseases and ailments of the heart and body. Recite it with absolute certainty that Allah will bring you relief and cure from what plagues your mind and your body. It's effect is directly proportional to the certainty of the one reciting it.

Ramadan 20
The Importance of Forgiveness

We would have moved more forward than where we are in life, if we had understood the importance of forgiving one another. We remain the same because we refuse to forgive ourselves.

God Himself is All-forgiving because, He wants good for us, but we hate forgiveness because we still don't understand its meaning. If we had known, we wouldn't have been sleeping every night without forgiving those that wronged us during the day.

We seek the forgiveness of our Lord over our misdeeds, why don't we also forgive those that seek our forgiveness too? Doing so will fetch us the peace of mind and goodness we ever crave in life and hereafter.

This won't be understood, except by the deep thinkers with sound minds
