The late Dr. Aladesanmi Tunde Richard was born on 21st February, 1962 at Egbe Ekiti in Gbonyin Local Government Area, Ekiti State. He attended Methodist Primary School, Egbe Ekiti and later proceeded to St. Augustine's Comprehensie High School, Oye-Ekiti and Ondo State College of Arts and Science, Ikare Akoko. He attended the University of Ibadan, where he graduated with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS) in July, 1988.
He obtained Master's Degree in Public Administration (MPA) in August, 2006 and later became Fellow Internation College of Surgeon(FICS) in June, 2009. Dr. Aladesanmi Tunde Richard has his Pre-Registration Internship at the State Specialist Hospital, Ao-Ekiti, Ekiti State between August 1988 and July 1989. He served as a Medical Officer during his NYSC at the Department of State Security Service Clinic, Ilorin, Kwara State. He was a Senior House Officer at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Department of Surgery in 1992 and rose to the position of Senior Registrar in May 1996. He was a Consultant Surgeon at the Federal Medical Centre, Ido-Ekiti between the 2000 and 2005. He rose to the position of Consultant Surgeon Grade I, at the Federal Medical Centre, Ido-Ekiti in January 2009, the position he occupied till he answered the call of his creator.

Dr. Aladesanmi was the Senior Prefect, St. Augustine's Comprehensive High School, Oye-Ekiti, 1979-1980. Commissioner for Health & Transport, Alexander Brown Hall, UCH, UI, Ibadan. He held so many position of responsibility as he moved on the ladder of his profession. He was the Head of Department of Surgery Federal Medical Centre, Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti State (Nov. 2000-Jan. 2011).

He was the 1st Vice Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association(NMA) Ekiti State Branch between Aug. 2004 and Sept. 2005, Acting Chairman of NMA, Ekiti State Branch. He later became the substantive NMA Chairman from July 2006 to July 2008. He was the Chairman of the following Committees: Trado-Medicine National Level, Health Policy and Implementation, NMA National Internal Audit Committee, NMA National and Emergency Medical Committee (RTA), NMA National since 2014 until his demise.

At various times, he was the Acting Chief Medical Director, FMC, Ido-Ekiti. He was a registered member of many professional bodies. he was awarded the State Merit Award for the 1989-1990 NYSC year in Kwara State. He bagged other awards such as Award of Merit, Best Consultant by SSA, FMC, Ido-Ekiti Chapter in September 2008.

**DTAF Foundation Donates Breath Analyzers to FRSC Eleyele, Ibadan to Enhance Road Safety in Nigeria**

On January 22, 2025, the Dedicated to Safer Roads Foundation (DTAF) took a significant step toward promoting safer roads in Nigeria. The foundation held a meeting with representatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Eleyele branch in Ibadan, during which they donated two handheld breath analyzers.

This impactful gesture is part of DTAF’s ongoing efforts to ensure Nigerian roads are safe for all users. The devices, designed to detect and deter drunk driving, will bolster FRSC’s enforcement of traffic laws and their commitment to reducing road accidents.

Dr. Korede Ikwune and Dr. Ronke Ajav, who emphasized the organization’s dedication to fostering road safety and saving lives, represented the DTAF Foundation at the meeting.

The FRSC Eleyele branch, represented by senior officials, expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the donation. They assured DTAF that the breath analyzers would be used effectively and reiterated their commitment to tirelessly promoting safety across Nigerian roads.

"This donation will undoubtedly enhance our ability to prevent accidents caused by impaired driving," stated an FRSC spokesperson. "We remain resolute in our mission to make Nigeria's roads safe for everyone, and we deeply appreciate DTAF for their invaluable support."
