Youth-Minds Alignment and Development Centre

Youth-Minds Alignment and Development Centre A Youth-led NGO strategically infusing in today's teens the skills, values & virtues to better their families, create wealth & impact their environments.

Who we are

Youth-Minds Alignment and Development Centre is a Non-profit/Non-Governmental Organisation, registered with no CAC/IT/NO 87341, as Incorporated Trustee of the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigerian, under the trusteeship of Mr Babatunde Vaughan, Ms. Modupe Fadare and Mr Harrison Oaikhenan. We began operations (free conferences, trainings and workshops) in year 2012 in Oyo state, unde

r the alias, Mind Alignment Centre (MAC). We are concerned about the wide gap of skills and values, between academic learning, the attitude of teenage Nigerians to national issues and their ability to solve small-scale problems in their immediate families and communities. Our vision is to establish the network of value-driven families who would create and sustain ethical and entrepreneurial leadership, wealth and formidable communities across Africa. We are on a mission to have strategically nurtured at least 20,000 Under-30 entrepreneurial leaders by 2030 through seminars, workshops, boot and summer camps, and an established teenage leadership academy. What makes us Unique

• With a keen interest in teenagers, wholesome education and technology as a tool, we focus more on transformational learning rather than just numbers.
• We take an immersion process, which forms new paradigms, thinking patterns and habits, and allows our teenagers to fail early and get all-round feedback to improve.
• Asides mentorship, we spread impacts through a pool of over 30 passionate volunteers who are skilled graduates and thought leaders in education, who by adopting the Socratic style and learner-centred approaches, facilitate the delivery of our unique curricula on entrepreneurial leadership and social innovation.
• We are building an ecosystem, which will provide structured mentorship platform, where retired professionals in certain fields can sign-up to volunteer as coaches and mentors for teenagers, especially, those who have viable project ideas.
• We are promoting patriotism and active citizenship. Several programmes have been geared at skills development, but we saw that they were all mostly centred on the “Individual Self”, while the beneficiaries have little or no point of contact with their families and immediate environment, let alone impact the country. With the idea of Active citizenship, which we define as being an influence or force in the betterment of one’s immediate environment, we provide the tools, platform and support to all teenagers we train to impact the lives of others. Why We Do What We Do

After careful analysis, we have discovered that at the roots of corruption, unemployment and poverty in Nigeria, the absence of patriotism, skills, values and structured systems to impact change are main causes of our woes. For instance, values and virtues like service, honesty and patriotism are hard to find amongst the present day teenagers. Beyond this, 7 of every 10 are incapable of innovatively solving their own little problems, and when a few make attempts, they are short of opportunities to turn their ideas into job and wealth ventures. If this continues for the next ten years, and according to the World Bank Group report in May 2017, stating the need for new 30 -40 million Jobs by 2030, we can expect to have an emerging force of 60- 80 million unemployed, morally deficient and dependent youth force. This negates our global goals to foster peace and eradicate poverty. Hence our focus on the problem of mind-sets, skills, values and systems, which we find purpose and fulfilment in tackling, and have developed competencies to proffer sustainable solutions. We strongly believe that if we were able to nurture today’s teenagers with the right ideologies, skills and values, by 2030, we would have contributed to the development of the next generation of African entrepreneurs and leaders. Out next big moves and how you can help us succeed:

We currently have an influx of ideas from our teenagers on small viable projects. This requires prototyping, incubation, testing, funding, mentorship and strategic support. We are at a point where we need to have fledged Idea Incubation Factory. This will require not just funds and more hands but also scholarship opportunities for our team members to develop the level of competence needed to sustain this wave of growth and the subsequent managerial and developmental demands. We are need to funds, grants, volunteers, and retired professionals who can sign-up as mentors/coaches as we continue to follow-up with our young people. These are essential to why we exist. Our guiding values:
Integrity
Creativity
Collaboration
Service
Excellence

Our Story

Who we are

Ours is a Non-profit/Non-Governmental Organisation, registered with no CAC/IT/NO 87341, as Incorporated Trustee of the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, under the trusteeship of Babatunde Vaughan, Modupe Fadare and Harrison Oaikhenan.

We have 5 years of success stories in organising conferences, teacher training, and complex summer and boot camps, which have impacted over 800 teenagers and 200 teachers.

Our vision is to establish the network of value-driven families who would eradicate poverty and build peaceful societies across Nigeria. With a firm focus on the UN SDG 4 (quality education), we seek to nurture young people with the particular skills and values they need to creatively solve complex problems, birth innovations and build successful careers.
