Child marriage should not be a thing!

Seeing videos of young girls being forced into marriage online can be devastating.

So we say NO TO ALL FORMS OF GENDER BASED VIOLENCE.

Obsession and control can gradually get out of hand and become abusive.

In the spirit of advocating against gender-based violence. We ask that you reevaluate how you show love. If it’s unhealthy and can get out of hand to become abusive, it is time to drop that!

No girl deserve to repeatedly watch her back or dread going to school because of the potential of being bullied and harassed in school.

Policies and enlightenment against bullying and harassment should be strictly upheld in schools.

If possible, get anonymized feedback from students to know about the forms of violence they face in school that might be seem very obvious to the management.

Education is important and we should be able to obtain it without fear of getting bullied or harassed.

Do you know that economic abuse can also be a form of gender based violence.

Watch the video for more context.

When you control a woman’s asset and finances, dictates what she can use it for, deprive her of basic economic necessity. You stimulate and exposes her to all forms of violence.

Many girls leave home chasing better education and opportunity, only to meet harm instead.

Today, we add our voice to the outcry against child sexual abuse—and to the call for .

Ochanya Elizabeth Ogbanje (13) died on October 17, 2018 from complications linked to years of sexual abuse. Media and court records name her guardians, Andrew Ogbuja and his son Victor Ogbuja, as the alleged perpetrators. In April 2022, a Benue State High Court acquitted Andrew Ogbuja of r**e and of causing her death, while in a separate case Felicia Ochiga-Ogbuja was convicted for failing to protect Ochanya—her conviction was upheld on appeal in November 2022. Victor Ogbuja has remained at large since 2018 and has not faced trial.

We stand with survivors and advocates demanding:
- Accountability—locate and arrest Victor Ogbuja so he can face trial.

- A justice system that works for children—specialised investigation, survivor-centred prosecution, and strict enforcement of child-protection laws.

- Prevention and protection—safe schooling and guardianship systems, mandatory reporting, and swift response when abuse is suspected.

If you have credible information that could help law enforcement locate Victor Ogbuja, report it to the appropriate authorities immediately.

We will keep advocating—because every girl deserves safety, dignity, and a future.

In honor of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we are proud to spotlight Morenikejimi Olaniran—a dedicated advocate whose work is transforming the lives of young women and girls in Nigeria’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.

As the founder of the MO Reusable Pad Project and Centre4Teens, Morenikejimi has been instrumental in promoting menstrual hygiene education and access. Her initiatives have educated over 380 girls and women on menstrual hygiene management in Lugbe IDP camp, Abuja . Through workshops, she teaches the production and maintenance of reusable sanitary pads, providing a sustainable solution to period poverty.

Morenikejimi’s efforts extend beyond education. She has distributed dignity kits containing essential hygiene items to women and girls in need, ensuring they maintain their health and dignity during menstruation. Her work also encompasses training on reproductive health, self-esteem building, and setting healthy boundaries, empowering young women to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures.
