GHAi Presents Policy and Advocacy Brief to Ondo State Ministries Following Successful Next-Gen Health Governance Project.

As part of our commitment to strengthening youth participation in health governance, the Get Healthy Africa Initiative (GHAi), led by our Executive Director, Faysol Oluwakemi, yesterday, officially presented our Policy and Advocacy Brief to key ministries in Ondo State following the successful implementation of the Next-Gen Health Governance Project, supported by the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF) Naijayouthfund.

The policy brief captures key findings from community engagements conducted by the Next-Gen Health Governance Fellows and outlines evidence-based recommendations to advance youth-inclusive health governance and policymaking in Ondo State.

During our advocacy visit to the Ondo State Ministry of Health, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Banji Ajaka, commended GHAi for its innovative approach to promoting youth participation in health governance. He also appreciated the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund for supporting impactful youth-led initiatives and assured our team that the recommendations contained in the policy brief would be reviewed and presented to the Ondo State Government for consideration, including the possible scale-up of the Next-Gen Health Governance Project across the state.

Earlier in the week, our team also visited the Ondo State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, where the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Lanre Abiodun, warmly received the delegation and assured us that the policy brief would be carefully reviewed.

These engagements reinforce GHAi's commitment to ensuring that young people are not just beneficiaries of health policies but active partners in shaping them.

We sincerely appreciate the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF) for its invaluable support in making this project a success. Together, we remain committed to advancing youth-led health governance and driving sustainable policy change in Nigeria.
