CCNETWORK PRESS RELEASE: OFFICIAL RESPONSE
Date: April 23, 2025
From: Care and Compassion Network (CCNetwork)
Re: Clarification on Statement by Mr. Muhammed Abdulkabir
We acknowledge the recent public statement issued by Mr. Muhammed Abdulkabir on April 22, 2025, concerning his disassociation from the Care and Compassion Network (CCNetwork). While we respect his personal choice to step away, we deem it necessary to address certain inaccuracies and provide clarity for the sake of our stakeholders and the public.
1. LEGAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS
Care and Compassion Network is a duly registered nonprofit organization under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. According to the official records of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Mr. Waliyulah Olayiwola is listed as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the highest legal authority in the organization.
Furthermore, Mr. Olayiwola is recognized as Founder and CEO, a title clearly stated on the official letterhead submitted during CAC registration and still in use today. He also served as the first Director General of the Administrative (Executive) Council until a voluntary restructuring was initiated to allow new leadership opportunities.
2. ON THE DISSOLUTION OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL
The decision to dissolve the former Administrative Council was based on consistent inactivity from several members, including Mr. Abdulkabir himself, who had not attended meetings or contributed meaningfully to organizational discussions since 2023 or 2022.
Article 8 of our constitution, Section III, subsection (E) clearly states that:
Any administrative council member who misses three consecutive meetings without valid reason ceases to hold office.
Furthermore, dissolution was not done arbitrarily but was discussed with and consulted with the current Acting Director General, Mr Ahmad Aluko, the highest serving authority of the admin council. Mr Aluko recommended a complete and total dissolution of all members of the admin to allow for fresher executives with fresher ideas, zeal and enthusiasm.
Although, the decision finally took on partial dissolution of members adjudged inactive by virtue of their silence, unavailability during most meetings, general inactivity and dormancy during discussions.
The goal was to revive organizational efficiency and allow for a refreshed, active council. This action was taken in good faith, in line with our constitution and out of necessity - not ambition.
3. ON THE NAME AND LEGAL IDENTITY OF THE ORGANISATION
The evolution of the organization’s name has always been led by Mr. Olayiwola. The initial idea was Waliyulah Olayiwola Foundation for Humanity (WOLFH). Based on advisory input from mentors and formal advisers, this was dropped for Lifeline Charity Network.
During the CAC registration process, that name was rejected, and Care and Compassion Network was adopted, successfully registered under Mr. Olayiwola’s direction. The name has since remained the legal and recognized identity of the organization.
Any suggestion to change the name now to reflect personal ownership is unfounded, unnecessary, and disregards the legal process and historical truth.
4. ON ALLEGATIONS OF AUTHORITARIANISM
Leadership requires difficult decisions, especially when inactivity and internal sabotage threaten progress. At no point has Mr. Olayiwola undermined dialogue or refused counsel. However, strategic leadership should not be mistaken for authoritarianism, especially when exercised within the bounds of organizational policy and legal structure.
5. CLARIFICATION ON FOUNDING CLAIMS
For the record, Mr. Muhammed Abdulkabir is neither listed in any of the CAC registration documents nor organisation documents of Care and Compassion Network (CCNETWORK) as a Founder, Co-founder, nor a Trustee. While he was once an administrative participant, the self-appointed title of "founding member" holds no legal or constitutional basis within the structure of the organization.
CCNETWORK was initiated, structured, and has consistently been led by Mr. Waliyulah Olayiwola, whose name and leadership are unmistakably tied to the organization—both online and offline.
For example, from inception:
(a.) The official address registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) belongs to Mr. Olayiwola’s maternal family house in Ibadan.
(b.) The organization’s digital infrastructure, especially its WhatsApp groups for general members and administrative council members, was solely created and managed by Mr. Olayiwola.
(c.) Most day-to-day operations, public communications, and strategic direction have flowed directly through his leadership.
These facts solidify Mr. Waliyulah Olayiwola’s legal and operational identity as the Founder and CEO of CCNETWORK, beyond any sentiments or unofficial claims.
7. ON INVOKING DIVINE JUDGEMENT
We noted that Mr. Abdulkabir publicly asked Allah to judge between us. As people of faith, we also place our trust in Allah, but we do so by following His commands:
“Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those with authority among you.” (Qur’an 4:59)
If Mr. Abdulkabir truly fears Allah and seeks His judgment, then the path is clear: obey organizational rules, show respect to leadership, and avoid insubordination and division.
We stand ready to account for our intentions and actions before Allah, but we also remind our community that asking for Allah’s judgment while flouting His clear instructions is not sincerity; it’s contradiction.
8. OUR FOCUS MOVING FORWARD
We remain committed to the vision of CCNetwork: bridging compassion with action to serve humanity. We are grateful to every individual who has supported the journey, including those who have now moved on. However, we will not allow misinformation, personal grievances, or unsubstantiated claims to distract us from our humanitarian mission.
We encourage the public and our partners to reach out to our official channels for any concerns or clarifications regarding the organization.
Signed,
Waliyulah Olayiwola
