Nigerian Red Cross Trains FRSC Personnel on Advanced Casualty Handling and Carriage in Oyo State

When accidents happen, every second counts. The way an injured person is handled before reaching the hospital can make a big difference.

To help strengthen emergency response in Oyo State, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Oyo State Branch, trained personnel of the FRSC Oyo State Sector Command, Eleyele, on casualty handling and carriage.

The practical session covered the safe use of spine boards, patient stabilization, and proper casualty transportation techniques, especially for victims with suspected spinal injuries.

By equipping first responders with lifesaving skills, the Nigerian Red Cross continues to support safer roads and better emergency care for all.

Together, we are building a stronger response system—one trained responder at a time.

Our Branch Chairman Engr. Babalola Famade, featured on BCOS Television to discuss the ongoing abduction crisis in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

During the programme, he provided the humanitarian perspective on the plight of the abducted children and other victims, emphasizing the importance of protecting lives, supporting affected families, and ensuring the safe return of all hostages.

The discussion also examined the options being considered by authorities, including dialogue and security interventions, while highlighting the psychological and emotional impact of such incidents on children, parents, and communities.
