LIFE IN THE KINGDOM.
The Church and Politics:
In my last post I said that the Church is not just to participate in politics, but she is the heart of politics. How do you mean? Someone may ask. I am saying that the Church is supposed to determine the party and the candidates that should win in each election. Naturally,'even the politicians know that God is not only involved in politics but the one who gives victory in election. But, because the church in Nigeria is not up and doing in this key role, they go to the wrong places to look for power to win in elections.
Do you know that in the Old Testament it was the Prophets that anoint or appoint kings? (1Sam.16:1,12,13) The prophets were the mouth piece of God. The Church is the mouth piece or God's representative on earth now like the Prophets in the OT.
I am not saying that only the Church or the Christians are to rule in Nigeria, but that the Church has the divine authority to determine who should rule in Nigeria. But when men slept, the enemy sowed tares. The Church must wakeup from her slumber and take her place to guide the political life of Nigeria in the right direction or the devil will continue to have a field day, and we will continue to groan.

LIFEIN THE KINGDOM.
Tﹰhe Church and politics:
What is politics?
According to OALD "it is the activities involved in getting and using power in public life, and being able to influence decisions that affects a country or society." Should the church or Christians be involved in politics or not? Or better still, is God Almighty involved in politics or not? God is not only involved in politics but the author and source of politics. (Gen.1:26-28) And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Gen.1:26) A very close look at this verse of scripture gives us the insight as to who should rule on earth, from divine perspective. The phrase "in our image, after our likeness " reveals God's qualification for who should rule on earth. He or she must be in God's image and likeness.
So, on earth today, who is in the image and likeness of God? It is the church or the Christians. The church is not only to be involved in politics but she is the heart of politics on earth. (to be continued)

LIFE IN THE KINGDOM.
The Servant Leader: The Servant Leader is also called "The good Shepherd " by Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. (Jn.10:11-14) Why is he called the good Shepherd? According to our Lord Jesus, he is a good Shepherd because he lays down his life for the sheep. He is not a hireling. The hireling sees the wolf coming, he aboundoned the sheep and flee. This simply means that the hireling is not willing and ready to suffer for the sheep or the flock of God under his care (church members). A pastor, a good one for for that matter, knows that his pastoral role over his church members includes standing up and standing in for them in times of trouble. And he won't quit until it is over. But the "Bad Shepherd", that's the hireling is not willing to do so. He denies the sheep when it falls into trouble.
So, pastor, which are you? The "Good shepherd " or the "hireling ".

LIFE IN THE KINGDOM.
The Servant-Leader:
In my last post, i talked about leadership style in the kingdom of God. Today, let us examing more closely the "Servant-Leader " (mk.10:42-45). Who is a Servant-Leader? Servant-Leader is leadership style in the kingdom of God. What does it mean? It simply means that the one who is privileged to lead others in the kingdom of God, must act like a servant to the people he or she is leading. Who is a servant then? What are his characteristics? The Servant= Leader is one who makes painful sacrifices in compliance with the weakness or wants of others. Because he realises what his responsibility is towards the people he is positioned to lead, the Servant-Leader, humbles himself and show the people what they are expected to do to others by doing such to them. To be a Servant-Leader means to lead as Jesus led His disciples. He wore what they wore, so, Judas had to kiss Him for the mob to identify and arrest Him. To be continued.

LIFE IN THE KINGDOM.
Leadership In The Kingdom: While with His disciples one day, argument broke out among them about who should be the greatest or leader among them (mk.9:33=35). The disciples of Jesus were used to the world's style of leadership. Leaders of the world are lords over their people. The disciples thought that was going to be the same among them when Jesus eventually left them. Jesus knew that He must have to clarify that because it was a time bomb that would explode and scatter the disciples soon after He left. To settle that once and for all, Jesus made them to understand the difference between the kingdom they were in and the one they were seeing around them (the world). He told them that in the kingdom of God to which they belong, leaders are servants and not masters. Pastor, are you lord or servant to the members that God has privileged you to oversee. How easy it is for them to see you, do they have to queue up all day because they want to see you? Is that not the same way the world treat their subjects or followers? My dear leaders in the kingdom, let us endeavour to lead as Jesus commands us to. To be continued.

LIFE IN THE KINGDOM.
The Kingdom Defined: What is the kingdom of God? The word 'kingdom' is made up of two words. These are 'king' and 'dominion'. Put this together and it will mean the territory over which a king exercise authority". When we refer to the kingdom of God, we are referring to the territory over which God rules supreme. Generally speaking, God is ruling over the whole world. But strategically speaking, the kingdom of God is over all on earth that accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. This is the kingdom under reference here. The lifestyle of the kingdom of God is quite different from that of the word in which we living. Though in the world but we are not of this world ( Jn.17:14,16. ) to be continued.

LLIFE IN THE KINGDOM.
Tﹰhe ﹰFirst and second law:
The first law in the kingdom is Love for God.And the second law is Love for man or other people. ( Matt. 22:37-40) Every thing done in the kingdom of God is judged from this perspective. ( Matt. 22:40 ).
1. To love God means to prefer and reverence Him above all else. And whatever you do for Him must be based on this premises. This means that the services we render in the kingdom must be because we love God. Any work done in the kingdom, not based on this,' will be burnt when tested with fire. ( 1Cor.3:13-15 ).
2. The second law is Love for man or other people. To love someone means that you accept him or her the way he or she is and you treat him or her the way you treat yourself. We are to do unto others what we want them to do unto us. It is possible to do good things to people yet not out of love for them, but to prove to them that you are better than them. ( 1Cor.13:1-3). This kind attracts no reward but anger from God Almighty. Love is supreme in the kingdom and every other thing done in here must be founded on it.. (to be continued ).

LIFE IN THE KINGDOM.
Every kingdom or country has its laws, its way of life and practices. So, what are the laws and the lifestyle of the kingdom of God to which we belong?
1. LOVE: love is the first law in the kingdom of God.
But what is the definition of love in the kingdom?
a. LOVE for God and b. Love for man.
Love for God must be from the heart. Not on the lips or in words but deeds. (Matt.22:37)
Love for man or others must be as you love yourself. (Matt.22:39) (to be continued)

Please pastor ﹰDon't Harden,'Destroy Or Kill Them. Give Them The Opportunity To Live And Fulfil Divine Mandate:
The new believers in Christ are new born babies and must be treated as such.(1Pet.2:2). Pastor, when you rush new born believers into serving Christ when they are yet to know Him, you are endangering them. When you hold a baby who is just learning to walk and you drag him or her along, you are injuring her, she might drop dead. (Gen.33:12-14). Don't give them hard food but milk. When you teach them to heal the sick on their first day in church, you are dragging them and you are endangering them. Teach the ABC of the word of God. Introduce them to Christ, help them to know Him. Teach them how to become committed and dedicated to Him. Teach them about the life in the Christian family. And so on. Don't even force them to serve God. Tell them how much God loves them and the benefits of serving Him. Let them decide on their own to serve Him. This is when they Will be genuine in their service to God. Otherwise they Will be trying to please you and not God. And you know this is not good for their spiritual lives and health. This is how to raise disciples.

Method no 5f.
The Shepherd And The Sheep:
The disciples are called sheep by Jesus Christ. (Jn.10:2,4,5) The nature of the sheep is to follow. To follow here means that the disciples are good at copying or following examples. But who is to lay this example? It is the Shepherd. Jesus said, the shepherd is identified by his voice. The Shepherd must be example to the sheep in words and in deeds. This is another major way to disciple young believers. Pastor teach the people in words and in deeds.

Method no 5e.
Why ﹰDiscipleship is ﹰMust:
The Church is in the battle field. In physical life, a country does not send untrained persons to confront her enemies, but her army. Trained and equipped to defend her territorial integrity. But today the church is busy sending forth the untrained and the un equipped to defend her territorial integrity. Pastor, that is exactly what you are doing when you fail to disciple new believers, but immediately engage them in different units in the Church. Service unto God in any Church unit, is like positioning a soldier at the battle front. If he or she is a novice, then you have not just handed him over to be killed, but have also opened the Church up for attack in that area. When Jesus raised His disciples, they were to first and foremost be with Him, then He would send them. ( Mk.3:13,14) That is the example that we are to follow. Let new believers first be with Jesus through the discipleship process. Then, and only then, would they be qualified to both represent Christ and the Church. This is another reason why discipleship is a must.
