A lot of young people are trying to figure out their future on their own. You're expected to choose a career, learn valuable skills, build confidence, and somehow know where the opportunities are.

That's why I think events like UNLOCKED 2026 are important.

This isn't just another youth event where people come, sit down, listen, and go home.

You'll get access to transformation stations focused on AI and Digital Skills, Career Discovery, Public Speaking, Talent Showcase, and even Global Education opportunities.
You'll meet people your age, learn practical things that can actually help your future, and get the chance to showcase your talents in a supportive environment.

And here's the exciting part.

They're also looking for Station Champions. If you're someone who likes leadership, teamwork, and creating impact, you can lead one of the stations and compete for cash prizes of ₦200,000, ₦100,000, and ₦50,000.

So whether you want to learn, connect, showcase your talent, or lead, there's something for you at UNLOCKED 2026.

It's happening on July 1st at Jsay Prevarsity, Ibadan.

Democracy Day is not only a celebration of our nation's progress but also a time to remember the sacrifices made by those who fought for democratic governance and the rights we enjoy today. Their courage and determination laid the foundation for a society where every citizen has a voice and an opportunity to contribute to national development and at this critical time we remember and pray for safe return of the Teachers and Students abducted at Oriire Local Government.
As young people, we have an important role to play in strengthening democracy. We can do this by being responsible citizens, respecting the rights of others, obeying the law, promoting peace, and participating actively in our communities. Democracy thrives when citizens are informed, engaged, and committed to the common good.

SUMMARY OF VALUE FEMALE NETWORK COALITION/NETWORKS ANTI-FGM PROGRAM

The Value Female Network Coalition/Networks Anti-FGM organized a successful three-day program 2nd-4th June 2026 aimed at educating and empowering young girls and women. The program focused on creating awareness about the dangers of Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) and promoting the protection of girls' rights and well-being.
Participants were taught Comprehensive Life Skills Education, which covered important topics such as puberty, healthy relationships, dating, drug abuse prevention, self-esteem, decision-making, and personal development. The sessions provided valuable knowledge and practical skills to help participants make informed choices, avoid harmful practices, and become responsible members of society.
The program encouraged participants to say no to FGM, drug abuse, and other forms of violence while promoting healthy lifestyles, confidence, and positive relationships. Overall, the program was impactful, informative, and beneficial to all participants.

Today, as we commemorate World Environment Day, we are reminded that the Earth is our shared home and that its protection is a collective responsibility. This year's theme, "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future," challenges us to look to nature not only as a source of beauty and inspiration but also as a guide in addressing the environmental challenges facing our world.
Climate change, pollution, deforestation, and biodiversity loss continue to threaten the health of our planet and the well-being of present and future generations. However, nature provides solutions. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, wetlands protect communities from floods, and healthy ecosystems sustain life and livelihoods. By working with nature rather than against it, we can build a more sustainable and resilient future.
At The Young and Woman Initiative (YAWI), we believe that environmental stewardship begins with awareness and action. Every individual has a role to play—whether by planting trees, reducing waste, conserving energy, promoting sustainable practices, or educating others about environmental responsibility. Small actions, when multiplied across communities, create lasting impact.
As young people, women, community leaders, and stakeholders, let us commit ourselves to protecting our environment. Let us choose sustainable lifestyles, support climate-friendly initiatives, and advocate for policies that preserve our natural resources. The future we desire depends on the actions we take today.
