On today’s episode of The Women Shelter, we will be discussing the topic: “Intentional Parenting” where I would be asking my guest a critical question: what really is intentional parenting and why is it important for parents to be present in the lives of their children?

The guest that will be joining me on the show to interrogate the topic is Adejoju Adedoyin Mapaderun, one woman whose passion for children inspires me. She has a real heart for vulnerable children and has been involved in different causes targeted at making our children’s lives better.

Meanwhile I will also love to hear from you during the show: Did you grow up without an active parent, how did it affect you?
What practical steps are you taking to be present in your children’s lives?
Do you think Nigeria has enough support system for street and neglected children?

And I will be engaging a woman who is deeply involved in the work of shaping futures, not just in words, but in action.

Mrs Adejoju Adedoyin Mapaderun is a passionate volunteer and youth mentor who has worked closely with vulnerable groups, including street teens struggling with substance abuse and women dealing with depression.

She is also the founder of Talk Time with Esther, a platform focused on raising intentional and purpose-driven young people.

I’m enjoining every mother and mother-figure to join this particular conversation, let us talk about the well-being of our children and how we can do better as parents.

When I conceived the idea of The Women Shelter, one of the objectives I set out to achieve was to bridge the information gap between Nigerian women and relevant organizations and agencies that can be beneficial to them.

That is why the State Commander, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) Oyo State Command, Mr. Kayode A. Alfred will be joining me on The Women Shelter tomorrow to discuss the topic: “Protecting Our Girls: Confronting Child Sexual Abuse and Human Trafficking in Oyo State”.

You will recall that there have been several reports of girls from Ibadan and other parts of Oyo State being trafficked to countries such as Libya, often under false promises of better opportunities. So tomorrow, I will be engaging Mr. Alfred on this and other issues.

You call also call in and ask your questions. Time is 4 PM on Melody 100.7 FM The Ibadan Women-Shelter Foundation
