MAGICIAN OF THE WEEK
ROTN. OLARONKE OLA-GIWA
Rtn. Olaronke Rafiat Ola-Giwa was born on March 13, 1971, in Ibadan to the late Alhaji Muriana Olarotimi Olayiwola of Akinbile’s Compound, Kudeti Ibadan and Alhaja Silifat Titilola Olayiwola of Sobaloju’s Compound, Popoyemoja of Isale Ijebu, Ibadan.
She had her primary education at St. Teresa’s Primary School, Oke Ado, Ibadan and secondary education at Queen’s School, Apata, Ibadan (1983 - 1988). She later went to Seelphat Institute of Multi-lingual Secretariat Cum Administrative Studies at Agbowo, opposite the University of Ibadan to study Secretarial Science between 1990 - 1992. For her tertiary education, Olaronke attended Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo from 1993 to 1996 where she studied Secretarial studies at NCE level. In her quest for more knowledge, she obtained a bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Studies/Communication and Language Arts at the University of Ibadan (2000 - 2005), and a Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies (2006 - 2008).
She started her teaching career at Seventh Day Adventist School, Foko, Ibadan (2000 - 2005), worked at People’s Basic School I (2006 - 2014), Sacred Heart Public School II (2014 - 2020) and is currently working as an Assistant Headmistress at People’s Basic School II, Ring Road, Ibadan.
An active member of Rotary Club of Ibadan having participated in key Rotary programmes within and outside the club and served committedly in a few committees in just over a year of joining the club. She serves on some club committees and shows dedication to tasks committed to her. Rtn. Ronke Ola-Giwa got married in the year 1999 to a businessman, Musa Olapade Giwa, an Ijesha man based in Chicago, USA and God blessed the union with two daughters Oluwatunmise and Oluwasetemipe and a handsome boy Oluwajomiloju.
