On 30th July 2026, the Shunamite foundation for Women and Children (SFWC), in collaboration with other organizations under the umbrella of the Child Protection Network (CPN), participated in a public sensitization campaign to commemorate the 2026 World Day Against Trafficking in persons. The campaign was held at Iwo road Ibadan, Oyo State one of the Busiest commercial and transportation hubs in the city.

The campaign attracted significant public attention. Many participants actively engaged with the team by asking questions, sharing experiences and expressing appreciation for the information provided.
The discussion helped to dispel common misconception about human trafficking and emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant against deceptive recruitment, false job offers and other forms of exploitation.

Eating Well on a Budget: Shunamite Foundation Hosts Nutrition Education Session

The Shunamite Foundation for Women and Children held a Nutrition Education Session on 23 July 2026 at Awosika Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan, bringing together beneficiaries of its interest-free soft loan scheme for a practical and empowering afternoon.

Themed "Eating Healthy on a Low Budget," the session was facilitated by Miss Oluwole Boluwatife, a Nutritionist & Corps member at the SCM Headquaters, who shared actionable strategies on affordable healthy eating, meal planning, smart food purchasing, and reducing food waste. The 12 participants engaged actively in discussions and left equipped with practical knowledge to maintain healthy diets while managing limited financial resources.

Empowering women not just financially, but holistically: body, home, and community.

*Still Growing: Eco Women Thrive Program Records Steady Progress*

Six months after its December 2025 launch, the Eco Women Thrive Program is doing what most community initiatives struggle to do, sustaining momentum. Implemented by the Shunamite Foundation for Women and Children in partnership with "For Nature and Eco Green Initiative", eight women have gathered fortnightly every Thursday at Shunamite foundation office Ibadan, for sessions on financial discipline, environmental sustainability, and cooperative development.

The program's revolving micro-loan scheme tells the clearest story: participants started with ₦10,000 loans, repaid consistently, and earned an increase to ₦20,000, disbursed up to four times so far. That cycle of trust, accountability, and reinvestment is exactly what the program was built for. The next chapter involves expanding to more beneficiaries and deepening impact across all pillars.

shunamite foundation for women and children visited the correctional center at agodi gate Ibadan to celebrate the international women's day with the inmate showing them that they are not forgotten also the know the condition of their children and welfare support.

On the 12th of March 2026, CPN Ibadan Zone One members and volunteers from other zone, a total of 14 people made a visit to correctional female agodi gate Ibadan.

Items such as detergent, Tissue, Toothpaste, brush, sponge, bathing soap, sanitary pad and diapers were donated.

The total number of female inmate is nineteen (19)

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ZERO TOLERANCE AGAINST FEMALE GE***AL MUTILATION

In commemoration of the international day of zero tolerance against female ge***al mutilation, shunamite foundation for women and children in partnership with child protection network visited Bodija market to sensitize the people to stop female ge***al mutilation. We educated them on
Health risks such as infection, childbirth complications and chronic pain it causes.
Debunk misconception that Female ge***al mutilation is required by religion or has hygiene benefit.
Explain the legal framework, the local, national and international laws that prohibit FGM and penalties for violating them.
Promote human rights, frame Female ge***al mutilation as a violation of women’s and girl’s rights to health and bodily integrity.

Through the sensitization and one on one interaction with the market women, we were able to change the social norms and customs believes, break the cycle of silence and reduce stigma for those who oppose Female Ge***al Mutilation.
