At Oluyoro Girls Grammar School, the smiles said it all.

Over 250 girls gathered, eager to learn, share, and be heard. We talked about menstrual health, confidence, and self-care. Each girl received a sanitary pad, a simple gift that carries dignity, hope, and empowerment.

For many, it was more than just a pad; it was a reminder that they mattered, that their voices counted, and that their future was bright.

At Youthcare Development and Empowerment Initiative (YCDEI), we’re on a mission to ensure no girl is left behind.

Yesterday was such an unforgettable day at Bishop Olabanjo School! Where we celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child, themed “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis.”.

As soon as we stepped into the school compound, you could feel the excitement in the air. The girls were eager and curious.
The amazing team from the Youthcare Development and Empowerment Initiative (YCDEI) reached out to over 400 girls, encouraging them to see themselves as agents of change who will serve as leaders in different capacities wherever they find themselves.

The girls were also exposed to essential health education and supported with sanitary pads. Beyond these items, we gave out confidence, hope, and a real sense of dignity. Every girl deserves to feel seen, supported, and strong, no matter the challenges they face.

Strengthening Partnerships for Greater Impact

YCDEI recently welcomed the Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation for a courtesy visit.

This meeting allowed us to share how our programs are transforming lives through youth development, women’s empowerment, and combating gender-based violence.
Our discussions were filled with optimism and a commitment to expand opportunities for children, youth, and women.

We are grateful for the visit and excited about the potential for stronger collaborations to create a healthier, safer, and more equitable society.
