The secret place is not a room with four walls, though it may have four walls
The secret place is not a particular hour of the morning, though it may be observed at a particular hour
The secret place is a condition of the soul, a posture of the heart, a determined withdrawal from all that is not God in order to be alone with Him who is and in this withdrawal there must be a great silencing
