HCCN Submits Multi-Sectoral Development Proposal to Hadejia LGA Chairman
The Hadejia Concerned Citizens Network (HCCN) has submitted a well-articulated and comprehensive multi-sectoral development proposal to the Executive Chairman of Hadejia Local Government Area, Honourable Ahmed Abba Ari, targeting strategic interventions in the health, education, and environmental sectors.
The submission forms part of HCCN’s sustained civic engagement initiatives aimed at complementing government efforts and promoting inclusive, community-driven development across Hadejia Local Government.
In the health sector, the proposal identified key challenges affecting effective service delivery at the primary healthcare level, including congestion in some facilities, and limited community outreach. HCCN recommended the deployment of additional health personnel to high-demand PHCs, regular supportive supervision, strengthened referral systems, and continuous community sensitization to improve health indices and service utilization.
On the educational sector, the proposal will focus on the provision of extra coaching and academic support for students and pupils at both basic and post-basic levels. It will also emphasize the organization of academic competitions and related educational activities aimed at improving learning outcomes, enhancing students’ skills, and promoting academic excellence across schools in Hadejia Local Government Area.
Addressing the environmental sector, the proposal emphasized the critical link between environmental sanitation and public health. HCCN called for the revitalization of routine sanitation exercises, improved waste management practices, and active involvement of community volunteers and youth groups to ensure environmental cleanliness and sustainability across all wards of the Local Government.
While presenting the proposal, HCCN reaffirmed its commitment to constructive partnership with the Hadejia Local Government Council, traditional institutions, and other relevant stakeholders. The network expressed its readiness to support implementation through community mobilization, advocacy, and monitoring to ensure accountability and impact.
Honourable Ahmed Abba Ari received the proposal and commended HCCN for its proactive and people-centered approach, assuring that the recommendations would be carefully reviewed and considered in line with the Local Government’s development agenda.
