CONDEMNING OF THE ATTACK IN BUKKUYUM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF ZAMFARA STATE.

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), Zamfara State Chapter, expresses its deepest concern and unequivocal condemnation of the recent attack that occurred in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State. This unfortunate incident, which resulted in the destruction of property, and widespread fear among residents, is a grave assault on peace, security, and the collective humanity of our people.
This act of violence is not only barbaric but also unacceptable in any civilized society. It undermines the efforts of government, security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders who have been working tirelessly to restore peace and stability across Zamfara State and the wider Northern region.

The continuous cycle of attacks threatens the social fabric of our communities and hinders meaningful development.
The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) strongly condemns this heinous act in its entirety and calls on security agencies to intensify efforts in identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting those responsible. Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done, in order to restore public confidence and deter future occurrences.

The CNG, also call on the government at all levels to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve security presence in vulnerable communities, and implement sustainable measures that address the root causes of insecurity. There is an urgent need for collaborative engagement involving traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organizations, and local communities to promote peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

Furthermore, we urge residents of Bukkuyum and surrounding areas to remain calm, law-abiding, and cooperative with security agencies. Acts of retaliation or taking the law into one’s hands will only worsen the situation and deepen divisions within our communities.

The CNG Zamfara State Chapter stands in solidarity with the victims, their families, and all those affected by this tragic incident. We pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased, speedy recovery for the injured, and strength for the bereaved families during this difficult time. Peace, unity, and coexistence must remain our collective priority. We must not allow criminal elements to divide us or derail our shared vision of a peaceful and prosperous society.
