*URGENT REQUEST FOR DIPLOMATIC INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION OF A POTENTIAL UNPROVOKED AGGRESSION AGAINST THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA*
Your Excellencies,
We, the undersigned representatives of the "357 Peace Makers," a coalition of 357 civil society groups dedicated to the promotion of peace, unity, and sovereignty in Nigeria, write to you today with a profound sense of urgency and grave concern.
It has come to our attention through various international media channels and policy statements that the President of the United States, Mr. Donald J. Trump, has expressed intentions which, if acted upon, pose a direct and existential threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Specifically, we are alarmed by suggestions of a proposed mission that would involve an attack on Nigerian soil under the pretext of targeting individuals labelled as "criminals."
We have reason to believe that this proposed action is being fueled by a small cadre of enemies of the Nigerian state, who are currently residing in the United States. These individuals are disseminating malicious and false narratives to instigate international aggression against their own homeland. The potential for such a unilateral and unjustified military action not only violates international law but also threatens to destabilize our entire region, plunge West Africa into chaos, and result in the catastrophic loss of innocent Nigerian lives.
