Children experience emotions deeply, but they may not always have the words to explain what they are feeling.
Sometimes, a behaviour change, becoming unusually quiet, losing interest in things they enjoy, frequent anger, or withdrawing from others can be a child's way of saying, “Something is wrong.”
Instead of saying “You’re fine,” try asking:
-How are you feeling today?
-Is there anything bothering you?
-Do you want to talk about it?
And most importantly, listen without judging.
A is not only a child who is protected from physical harm but one who knows that their feelings matter and that there is someone they can turn to.
Let's create more spaces where children feel safe enough to speak.
