HR: What's your salary expectation?

Candidate: $8,000 to 10,000 a month.

HR: You are the best-fit for the role, but we can only offer $7000.

Candidate: Okay. $7,000 would be fine.

HR: How soon can you start?

Meanwhile, the budget for that particular role is $15,000. HR feels like they did a great job in salary negotiation and management will be happy they cut cost for the organisation.

𝗜𝗻 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄, 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 “𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗯?”, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿?

𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: “Absolutely. And you shouldn’t hire anyone that says they wouldn’t. Your question specifically said 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. It didn’t say 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆, 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮. If it’s a better opportunity, any rational person would take the job because by definition it’s a better opportunity.

You want rational, clear-thinking people working for you. Rational, clear-thinking people do things that ultimately benefit themselves. Like working hard at their jobs, learning things that will make them better employees, having the ambition to improve themselves so they can advance their career.

As a rational, clear-thinking person, I would never leave without adequate notice. If I leave I want you to be happy that you provided me with the opportunity to be more productive and have a better life. I will want you to fondly remember me because our paths may cross again. In a few years you may have a more senior position that I would be interested in, but could never gained the required experience working continuously for you. And if that happens, I want you to welcome me back with open arms.”

I hear a lot of people and preachers saying, "Find your purpose", "Don't get married until you find your purpose…"

Here's my opinion — 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆.

I don't know if it's just me, but I've read through the Bible several times, only one man knew His purpose from birth—Jesus. Every other person in the Bible never knew their purpose. Purpose found them while they were busy doing something. In fact, they never knew their name and life record would be written in an eternal book. They were just living their lives with intention, and when purpose came knocking, they aligned…

If purpose comes knocking, would you be ready to align? Can your life right now even attract purpose?

Revelation 20:12 "And I saw the dead, great and small alike, standing before the throne. 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱, and then another book was opened, the book of the living. The dead were judged according to 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀."

When your book is opened, what would be written of you? Selah.

The purpose some people are fulfilling might be what someone else who didn't align was supposed to fulfill. If Albert Einstein, Da Vinci, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, et al didn't align, someone else would have aligned. There's no one purpose for one man. If you miss what you ought to do, someone else will align and get it done while you waste away.

That thought, that small drop of idea that doesn't make sense might be purpose knocking. It won't make sense until you align to purpose, then you start getting clarity of purpose. It has lingered for a while. RESPOND ASAP! It won't remain there waiting for you. Once it moves to another person, there's no coming back.

This new month, live with intention. Get busy doing something meaningful. Discipline yourself to spend at least two hours daily to increase your capacity in knowledge, skill, and spirit. Shun distraction. START DOING SOMETHING! NO TIME!!
