School dropout and chronic absenteeism are among the highest statistical predictors of early substance abuse. When families struggle financially, children often drop out to hawk goods, work casual jobs, or wander the streets where exposure to illicit substances is high.

Our scholarship program makes it possible for us to keep children consistently in school, surround them with structure, supervision, and positive peer networks as they navigate adolescence.

We believe in a comprehensive approach to substance use prevention.

How does change happen? It starts by coming together.

Last week, Busaosowo Foundation, in partnership with Development Edge and World Merit Enugu hosted the Youth Action Community of Practice (YACoP), bringing together 25 active young changemakers from 16 organisations to discuss the future of changemaking, connect with resources and opportunities to scale up impact, and find real solutions to the challenges facing changemaking within the sector.

Spaces like this become the calculus for learning and building effective partnerships.

Last week during ÑHORO 2.0, we sat down for an impactful 90 minutes with an incredible group of teenagers.

We created a dedicated, open space to dive into the real issues they face from academics, family dynamics, and life's toughest choices.

Navigating the modern world as a young person isn't easy, but having an open space to talk about it makes all the difference. We believe that we can only help young people if we actively listen to them.

We are grateful to all guests who showed up, spoke up, and made this memorable conversation happen.

Investing time in the next generation is how we build stronger, more resilient communities for tomorrow.
