🎤 A Colorful Celebration of Talent, Purpose, and possibilities!
The Nigeria Association of the Blind, (NAB), Youth Wing, Enugu State Chapter , proudly held its first-ever Youth Annual Program on May 17, 2025, at the Bina Foundation, Enugu.
With the inspiring theme: Beyond Sight, Talent, Education, and Empowerment of Visually Impaired Youths. The event marked a powerful milestone in championing inclusion, raising awareness, and celebrating the unique abilities of blind and visually impaired young people.
The event was enriched with a colorful display of talent, including: News casting in braille: Visually impaired youths confidently read the news using Braille, showcasing impressive literacy skills and effective communication abilities.
Musical Performances: Soulful songs and live music that captivated the audience.
Flute Playing: Beautiful melodies played by blind youths on the flute left a lasting impression, reflecting great discipline, musical talent, and passion.
Inspirational Talks & Health Education: Participants were inspired by motivational messages, health tips, and personal testimonies delivered by professionals and visually impaired role models — all aimed at encouraging confidence, resilience, and wellness.
These activities brought joy, unity, and inspiration to all who attended, proving that talent truly goes beyond sight.
One of the major highlights of the event was the presence and strong support from NAB Youth Coordinators across various Southeast State Chapters. These leaders travelled from their respective states to show solidarity, share in the vision, and uplift the Enugu Youth Wing through heartfelt messages and encouragement. Their presence added great value to the success and impact of the day.
Also in Attendance: Zonal Youth Coordinator, Mr. Chude Timothy, We were greatly honored by the presence of Mr. Chude Timothy, the Zonal Youth Coordinator for the Southeast. In his inspiring speech, he called on the youths to unite across state lines, support each other, and remain steadfast in the pursuit of self-development and excellence. He said: This gathering is proof that blindness is not a barrier but a beginning, a call to rise, lead, and inspire others.
Our dynamic Enugu Youth Coordinator, Mr. Cosmas Ede, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. He expressed deep appreciation to the visiting state coordinators and guests for their support. He reaffirmed his commitment to creating more platforms where visually impaired youths can be heard, thrive, and shine.
Mr. Ede also emphasized the importance of investing in the future of blind youths through accessible education, creativity, and self-expression, and thanked everyone who contributed to making the event a resounding success.
The involvement of state youth coordinators, fellow visually impaired colleagues, and the Zonal Youth Coordinator elevated the spirit of the program and strengthened the bond among all Southeast NAB Youth Wings.
The NAB Youth Wing, Enugu State, remains deeply grateful and more determined than ever to continue empowering blind youths , raising awareness, and building a future where every ability is nurtured and valued.
