Every year on 17th September, World Patient Safety Day brings global attention to the importance of making healthcare safer and reducing preventable harm to patients. The day calls on Health workers, Healthcare institutions, Communities, patients and families to work together to improve the safety and quality of care.

At Multi -Lifesavers, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to receive safety, quality and dignified healthcare.

This World Patient Safety Day, we call for healthcare systems that put people at the centre of care, protecting patients, listening to their voices and ensuring that no one is left behind.

Families across communities like Umualor face the same question: where will the next meal come from. Displacement, Hardship, and Rising Costs leave too many without enough.
This week, through our Food Security and Nutrition programme, Multi Lifesavers delivered 100 bags of 10kg rice to St Anthony's Parish, Umualor.
Food, Love and encouragement for people rebuilding their lives.

But this can't stop with one delivery. Food insecurity is a crisis that needs sustained attention, not a one time response.

NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN TREATMENT AND SURVIVAL.

For many vulnerable families, getting sick is only the beginning of the struggle.
The cost of medical care can place an enormous burden on families who are already struggling to meet their most basic needs. For some, the inability to afford treatment can mean delayed care, untreated conditions, or the heartbreaking loss of someone they love.
This should not be the reality.
At Multi-Life Savers, we believe that financial hardship should never stand between a vulnerable person and the healthcare they need.

Through our Health & Well-being Programme, we want to reach more people who cannot afford essential medical care and help ensure that financial circumstances do not determine who gets a chance to receive treatment.

But we cannot do this alone.
We need partners, donors and people who believe that every life is worth saving.
Your support can help us reach a patient waiting for care, a family facing a medical crisis, or someone who simply needs a helping hand to access treatment.

When children develop strong literacy skills, they are better equipped to learn, express themselves, make informed decisions and pursue opportunities that can shape their future. Yet, millions of children and adults still face barriers to acquiring these essential skills.

For many children, staying in school is not simply a matter of willingness. Barriers such as poverty, limited support, disengagement and lack of opportunity can push children away from education.
Football can create an entry point to reconnect children with learning.

Beyond the game, it can build discipline, teamwork, confidence and resilience while creating opportunities for mentorship and meaningful engagement with school.

The goal is not to make football the destination. It is to use the power of the game to help children stay in school, complete their education and have a better chance at a brighter future.

EDUCATION OPENS DOORS. OPPORTUNITY KEEPS THEM OPEN.

For a child with the desire to learn, a scholarship can mean far more than financial assistance. It can mean access, hope, confidence, and the opportunity to build a better future.

For these students, the support from Multi-Life Savers opened a door to education when financial barriers stood in the way. From school admission and scholarship support to providing laptops for learning, the intervention goes beyond getting children into school, it is about giving them the opportunity and tools to learn, grow and reach their potential.

Because education is not simply about being in a classroom. It is about creating pathways to opportunity, strengthening communities, and giving young people the chance to shape their own future.

OUT OF SCHOOL CHILDREN.
A child should not have to be born into the “right” family, community, or financial situation to have a chance at an education.

Yet for millions of children across Nigeria, something as basic as going to school can depend on whether their family can afford the next term’s fees, whether there is a safe route to school, or whether someone notices they are falling behind before it is too late.

And the consequences don't stop at the school gate.

When a child is left out of education, the opportunities available to them later in life become smaller. The cycle becomes harder to break not because the child lacks potential, but because they were never given the opportunity to develop it.

This is why education support cannot be about a one-time gesture. It has to be consistent. It has to reach children before they disappear from the system completely. And it has to address the barriers that keep families choosing between school and survival.

At Multi-Life Savers, we believe every child deserves that opportunity.

Sometimes, changing a child's future starts with something as simple as making sure they can stay in school.
