We hosted a two-day inception workshop for the Resilience building through multi-stakeholder engagement in anticipatory action against climate-induced disaster (REBUMAA) project in Enugu, bringing together key stakeholders in disaster management to develop actionable plans for anticipatory action against climate-related disasters.

The collaborative effort aims to reduce disaster risks and empower communities to prepare, respond, and recover from riverine flooding and other climate-related issues.

The Enugu State government is currently demolishing the Nigerian Red Cross Society Headquarters and the Motherless Babies Home in Enugu with the little children still in the building.

Our volunteers in Enugu South and Enugu East Divisions brought the energy to the streets of the Coal City State with a dynamic road show to kickstart the World Red Cross Week.

The road walk featured awareness campaign to sensitize the public on Red Cross activities, first aid simulation to demonstrate lifesaving skills and fitness exercises to promote health and wellness.

In our sustained effort to build stronger and more resilient communities in Enugu state, the Nigerian Red Cross through the Resilience building through multi-stakeholder engagement in anticipatory action for climate-induced disaster (REBUMAA) project has visited Okpu Okpanku, Amaechi Idodo, and Ogwuagor communities in Aninri, Nkanu East and Enugu East Local Government Areas respectively, to foster engagement that will build capacity for anticipatory action to mitigate the impact of climate-related disasters.

We continued our drive to promote healthy living with a comprehensive health outreach at Trans Ekulu Girls Secondary School, Enugu.

The initiative, which focused on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and medical care, empowered students and staff to embrace healthy habits.

Additionally, the school community received free health checks which included body mass index assessments, blood pressure and sugar tests, and individual counseling.

We hosted an orientation exercise for our new volunteers in Enugu.

The orientation was designed to welcome and educate our volunteers about our mission to alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found as well as their vital role in achieving this goal.
