The Nigeria SDG 16 Campaign is the new phase and extension of the Nigeria Justice 2015 Campaign of the African Law Foundation (AFRILAW). The Nigeria Justice 2015 Campaign ended in December 2015 following the adoption of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the UN. Our goal is to promote and achieve effective implementation of SDG Goal 16 and related Goals and Targets of the 2030 Sustai
nable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria. The Nigeria Justice 2015 Campaign was a national campaign initiated by African Law Foundation (AFRILAW), Enugu in 2014 as a local effort and part of the Global Justice 2015 campaign for inclusion of Justice in the UN Post-2015 Development Agenda by the Global Legal Empowerment Network (GLEN) and Namati: Innovations for Legal Empowerment (USA) and supported by Open Society Foundations. AFRILAW is an active member of GLEN. However, the Nigeria Justice 2015 Campaign created awareness and championed the inclusion of Justice into the Nigeria Post-2015 Development Agenda in partnership with Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA). The major result and outcome of the both Global and National campaigns was the final inclusion for the first time Justice Goal and Targets in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
