We recently conducted a Safeguarding Awareness and Sensitisation session with self-help groups of persons affected by NTDs in Otuesega and Emeyal LGAs, Bayelsa State. 🤝

The session featured interactive discussions and a Q&A segment, creating space for participants to ask questions, share experiences, and deepen their understanding of safeguarding, rights, and protection.

Together, we are strengthening safer and more inclusive communities.

The Director of Programs (DoP), Dr. Charles Nwafor, led the RedAid Nigeria (RAN) team on a supportive supervision visit for Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer (BU) control activities in Anambra State under the project “Contributing to Resilience of Communities in Southern Nigeria through Strengthened Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and TB Control,” funded by the German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association (DAHW).

The visit focused on strengthening program implementation, improving service delivery, assessing case detection and patient care activities, and providing on-site mentorship to health workers and stakeholders involved in leprosy/BU control.

As part of the activities, the RAN team joined the State team to conduct a skin camp at Uruowulu Primary School, Obosi, to promote early detection of skin-related NTDs and raise community awareness on leprosy and Buruli ulcer.
