MISSION 05 | TELL YOUR ROTARACT STORY

I joined Rotaract for three things: self and leadership development, lasting friendships with like-minded people, and the opportunity to serve my community.

Since joining, I have gained so much and genuinely enjoyed being part of the Rotaract family.

My journey began as a university student with the Rotaract Club of Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu, formerly the Rotaract Club of Federal School of Dental Technology and Therapy Enugu.

After graduation, I transferred my membership to the Rotaract E-Club of Wonderland Nigeria.

Many people may wonder why I chose an E-Club.

For me, it was simple. I love Rotaract and I value the people and community I have built through it. I didn’t want relocating to another city to mean leaving my club behind or having to start all over again somewhere else.

The E-Club gives me that continuity.

I can go about my daily activities, manage my schedule and still come together with my club for fellowship, projects and service, regardless of where I am.

That’s one of the biggest advantages of an E-Club for me: your location doesn’t have to determine your ability to belong.

So whether you’re constantly on the move or simply have a busy schedule, there’s still a place for you in Rotaract.

Your location may change, your schedule may change, but your Rotaract community doesn’t have to.

MISSION 02 | OPEN YOUR NETWORK

Today, I walked up to four friends and started a conversation about Rotaract.

At first, it felt like just another conversation. But as I shared what Rotaract is, what we do and the opportunities that come with being a Rotaractor, I realised how powerful these little conversations can be.

One of them already knew about Rotaract. She had heard about it before, but perhaps just needed a little more to see herself in it.

So I shared my experience: the friendships, leadership opportunities, service, personal growth and the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself.

It reminded me that sometimes people aren’t saying “no” to Rotaract. They simply haven’t heard the right story yet.

Today, I didn’t just talk about Rotaract. I shared a piece of my experience.

One conversation at a time.
One connection at a time.
One potential Rotaractor at a time.

MISSION 01 | ROTARY AT WORK

After completing her exams, Rotr. Onuigbo Chinaza took the opportunity to speak with people around her about the beauty of Rotary and the possibilities that come with being a Rotaractor.

She shared how Rotaract creates opportunities for service, fellowship, personal growth and meaningful connections, and how members can contribute to causes much bigger than themselves.

But Chinaza also shared something important: you don’t have to be limited by where you live or whether you can attend physical meetings.

For anyone interested in Rotaract but unable to commit to a traditional physical club, an E-Club offers another way to belong, participate and serve, regardless of location.

Through simple conversations, Chinaza showed that there is more than one way to experience Rotaract.

Sometimes, all it takes is one conversation to show someone that distance doesn’t have to stand between them and the opportunity to serve.

MISSION 04 | BEYOND YOUR CLUB

On Sunday, August 9, Rtr. Odimegwu Dennis stepped beyond his own club and attended a fellowship meeting of the Rotaract Club of Awka Gateway at Royal Paradise Hotel, Kwata.

For Dennis, the experience was an opportunity to see firsthand how another club conducts its fellowship, learn new approaches and connect with Rotaractors beyond his immediate circle.

What stood out most was discovering the depth of the club’s wider network, with exchange fellowships planned with clubs in Asaba and Accra, alongside invitations from clubs in Kenya and Uganda.

His experience is a reminder that Rotaract doesn’t end at the doors of your own club. There is a wider community waiting to be explored, connected with and experienced.

E-CLUB ADVANTAGE - MISSION 05
WHY I CHOSE AN E-CLUB

I discovered Rotaract in 2021, looking for something purposeful beyond religion or just socialising.

I loved the meetings, friendships, learning and service. But as work, travel and life changed, attending physical meetings twice a week became difficult.

I still wanted to serve. I just needed a different way to participate.

Then I discovered the Rotaract E-Club of Wonderland Nigeria.

Today, a lecturer from Warri, a professor from the US, a soldier from Kaduna and a masseuse from Italy can all be part of one club.

Different places. Different people. One community.

I didn't choose an E-Club because I wanted less involvement.
I chose it because I wanted to remain involved despite distance.

Wear your Rotaract/Rotary pin or branded item to work and tell someone about Rotaract.

2️⃣ OPEN YOUR NETWORK

Introduce someone in your network to Rotaract and create a new connection.

3️⃣ OPEN YOUR WORKPLACE

Connect your workplace or organisation with Rotaract for a possible partnership or collaboration.

4️⃣ BEYOND YOUR CLUB

Visit another Rotaract or Rotary club, connect with their members and learn something new.

5️⃣ TELL YOUR ROTARACT STORY

Share your Rotaract experience. Tell us why you joined, what you have gained, or a memorable moment.

• Pick at least ONE mission.
