Serving Vulnerable Communities with Compassion

True service goes beyond meeting physical needs. It restores hope, dignity, and the reassuring feeling that no one is forgotten. Similar to previous months, through its integrated sociocare initiatives, the Spiritan Self Awareness Initiative continued reaching some of the most vulnerable members of society in Nigeria.

At the Heart of Love Children’s Home, 33 orphaned and vulnerable children continued receiving holistic care, including education, nutrition, healthcare, accommodation, clothing, emotional support, and family-based nurturing. Remarkably, 14 of these children are currently pursuing higher education in universities across Nigeria and India, reflecting the long-term impact of sustained care and opportunity.

The Old is Gold Programme continued its monthly outreach to 157 elderly beneficiaries, many of whom live alone, have no reliable source of income, or face age-related illness and disability. Each beneficiary received essential food supplies, while regular home visits and companionship offered emotional encouragement and a renewed sense of belonging.

In addition, the Liquid Love Water Project continued providing access to safe drinking water in underserved communities, helping improve health, reduce waterborne diseases, and enhance quality of life for countless families.

For many beneficiaries, these services represent far more than material support. They are a reminder that they are valued, loved, and cared for.

Guided by the vision of One World One Family, we remain committed to building communities where compassion is lived daily and dignity is protected for every human being.

Nutrition that nourishes learning, health, and dignity.

For many children in vulnerable communities, a nutritious meal is more than food, it is the foundation for learning, growth, and hope. Through the Biarienu Food Programme, the Spiritan Self Awareness Initiative continues to address hunger and food insecurity across Enugu State, Nigeria.

During July 2026, approximately 19,550 freshly prepared nutritious vegetarian meals were served to 850 school children attending The Embodiments of Love Academy (TELA) and neighbouring public schools. Despite rising food prices and economic hardship, school attendance among beneficiary pupils remained above 95%, highlighting the powerful connection between nutrition and education.

The programme also extended its care beyond the classroom:

- 157 elderly beneficiaries received monthly food packs through the Old is Gold Programme.
- 156 staff members serving across Joy Village and Aruike Specialty Hospital received daily nutritious meals.

Since its inception in 2013, the Biarienu Food Programme has provided over 772,000 nutritious meals to vulnerable children. In addition, the Old is Gold Programme has distributed more than 28,800 food packs to elderly beneficiaries since 2020.

These interventions do more than relieve hunger—they improve nutrition, strengthen school attendance, reduce the burden on vulnerable families, and restore dignity to elderly people who might otherwise go without adequate food.

Every meal served is an investment in a healthier child, a stronger family, and a more hopeful community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors, volunteers, partners, and well-wishers whose generosity continues to nourish lives and transform futures.

Healthcare with compassion. Healing without financial barriers.

For many vulnerable families in Nigeria, access to quality healthcare remains out of reach. At Aruike Specialty Hospital, we continue to ensure that no patient is denied treatment because of financial hardship.

During July 2026, the hospital provided completely free medical care to 3,042 patients, offering outpatient consultations, specialist services, maternal healthcare, eye care, surgery, pharmacy support, and laboratory diagnostics.

July impact at a glance:

* 3,042 patients treated free of charge
* 768 eye patients received specialist eye care
* 30 surgical procedures successfully performed
* 22,429 laboratory investigations conducted
* 31 antenatal visits supported maternal health
* 14 safe deliveries conducted
* 101 patients admitted for inpatient care

Every consultation, surgery, laboratory test, and delivery represents a life touched with dignity and hope. Beyond treatment, this model protects families from catastrophic healthcare expenses while improving long-term health outcomes.

Since 2016, Aruike Specialty Hospital has served more than 212,000 patients and performed over 2,900 surgeries, demonstrating what compassionate, patient-centred healthcare can achieve when service is offered freely.

We are deeply grateful to our doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, donors, volunteers, and partners who continue to restore health, vision, and hope to underserved communities.

Education that builds both minds and character.

At The Embodiments of Love Academy (TELA), our commitment has always been to provide holistic, values-based education to 1,137 students from 27 surrounding villages in Enugu State, Nigeria. From early childhood through secondary education, every child receives completely free education designed not only to develop academic excellence, but also to nurture compassion, responsibility, and a spirit of service.

At the heart of TELA’s approach is Education in Human Values (EHV), where Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love, Non-Violence, and Service are woven into everyday classroom life.

In July 2026, students successfully completed their Third Term Examinations in a peaceful and disciplined environment that reflected the school’s culture of integrity and excellence. Beyond academics, girls and boys continued benefiting from the Femmecare and Steward of Virtue programmes, while young people developed practical vocational skills through the TELA Skills Acquisition Centre (TSAC).

Education becomes truly transformative when it nurtures intellect, character, confidence, and purpose together.

We remain deeply grateful to our teachers, parents, donors, and partners whose unwavering support continues to make this mission possible.

More than restored sight—restored confidence, independence, and hope.

This second glimpse into the Sunshine Vision Outreach Programme captures the continuing impact of free cataract surgeries and compassionate eye care reaching underserved communities in Nigeria. Behind every successful surgery is a person now able to see loved ones again, return to daily life, and look toward the future with renewed hope.

Guided by the vision of Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai and carried forward through the One World One Family Mission, this outreach remains a powerful reminder that healthcare offered with love can transform lives far beyond the operating theatre.

Some moments deserve to be remembered again, and this is one of them.

Celebrating Excellence at TELA! 🎓✨

The Embodiments of Love Academy (TELA) joyfully concluded the 2025/2026 academic session with the graduation ceremony of the Class of 2026, a memorable celebration of learning, character, service, and excellence.

The occasion recognized not only our graduating students but also the outstanding achievements of learners and staff across the school. Awards of excellence were presented to students for exceptional academic performance, including the Best Mathematics Students in both the Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools, alongside several other categories that celebrated hard work, dedication, and all-round excellence.

Our teaching and non-teaching staff were also honoured for their unwavering commitment and exceptional service. Their passion, sacrifice, and dedication continue to shape lives and uphold the values that define TELA.

As we celebrate our graduating students, we are reminded that true education goes beyond academic success. At TELA, we strive to nurture young people of character, compassion, and integrity—individuals who are equipped not only to excel in their chosen fields but also to serve humanity with love and selflessness.

Congratulations to the TELA Class of 2026, our award recipients, and every member of our school community. We pray that each graduate goes forth with courage, wisdom, and a heart dedicated to making the world a better place.

"Education is for life, not merely for a living."
