📢 Applications Are Now Open!

Are you blind or visually impaired and looking to develop practical computer skills that can support your education, career, or everyday life?

The BINA Foundation for People with Special Needs is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 edition of its annual Free Online Computer Training for the Blind. Every year, this program equips blind and visually impaired individuals with essential digital skills, and we are excited to welcome a new cohort of participants from around the world.

This training is designed to equip participants all over the world with essential digital skills through accessible, hands-on learning in a supportive online environment.

Upon successful completion of each module, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. Those who complete all the available modules will also receive a Full Program Certificate.

Minimum Requirements:

✔️ A stable internet connection
✔️ JAWS screen reader software installed on your computer

Love, Purpose, and New Beginnings

There is something truly special about witnessing lives come full circle.

On Saturday, 18th April 2026, joy filled the atmosphere as Mr. Njom Sunday Joseph and Mrs. Mary Amarachi Njom (née Obasi) exchanged their marriage vows at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Emene, Enugu, surrounded by family, friends, and well-wishers.

Sunday's journey with Bina Foundation began in 2015, when he enrolled in our Bead Making and Wire Works training programme for persons who are blind and visually impaired. After completing his training, he selflessly gave back by serving as a volunteer instructor, patiently mentoring other students in bead making, flower vase crafting, and related vocational skills.

His beautiful bride, Mary Amarachi, is also a proud member of the Bina family, having completed her training at the Foundation in 2019. Seeing two of our former students begin this new chapter together is a heartwarming reminder that Bina Foundation is not only a place where skills are acquired, it is a community where lives are transformed and lasting relationships are nurtured.

Our President, Lady Ifeoma Atuegwu, played a significant role in making the day memorable, while representatives of the Foundation joined other members of the Bina family including staff, the media crew, and alumni to celebrate with the newlyweds during both the wedding Mass and reception.

As you begin this lifelong journey together, we pray that your home will be filled with love, peace, understanding, and God's abundant blessings.

Congratulations, Sunday and Mary! May your marriage continue to flourish with happiness, joy, and countless beautiful memories.

International Widows’ Day 2026 June 23

Today, we commemorate the International Widows' Day as we recognize the strength, resilience, and experiences of widows across the world.

This year 2026 theme is: “Invisible Women, Invisible Problems.”
Many widows continue to face emotional pain, economic hardship, social exclusion, and limited access to opportunities after losing their spouses. Too often, their struggles remain unseen and unheard.

We are building compassionate and inclusive communities where vulnerable individuals are supported, empowered, and treated with dignity and as we mark this day, let us choose empathy, support, and advocacy for widows and their families. No one should have to carry grief, hardship, or loneliness alone.

Together, we can create a society where every voice matters and every life is valued.

International Albinism Awareness Day 2026 June 13
Today, June 13, 2026, we stand in solidarity with persons living with albinism around the world as we commemorate International Albinism Awareness Day with the theme: “Demanding Our Rights: Protect Our Skin, Preserve Our Lives.”
This theme highlights the importance of healthcare access, protection from discrimination, and the right of persons with albinism to live safely, confidently, and with dignity.
Promoting inclusion, creating awareness, and advancing equal opportunities for persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups remains at the heart of everything the BINA Foundation for People with Special Needs stands for.
Today is a reminder that diversity should never be a reason for discrimination. Every individual deserves respect, acceptance, protection, and the opportunity to thrive.
We celebrate the resilience, strength, and uniqueness of persons with albinism everywhere.

Today, we join the world in observing World Day Against Child Labour under the 2026 theme:

“Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults.”

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, dream, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment, not a life burdened by labour, exploitation, or neglect.

BINA Foundation for People with Special Needs, believes that inclusive education and empowerment are powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty and vulnerability, especially for children living with disabilities.

As we mark this important day, we call on individuals, communities, and institutions to continue creating opportunities where every child regardless of ability or background has access to education, dignity, protection, and hope for a better future.

Sometimes, impact goes beyond borders.

Bina Foundation recently donated footballs to blind and visually impaired individuals in Mali supporting their passion for the game and creating opportunities for inclusion through sports.

For many of these players, football is more than just a sport. It is confidence, connection, and a chance to be part of something bigger. Access to the right equipment may seem small, but it can make a huge difference in how they train, play, and grow.

This gesture is part of Bina Foundation’s continued commitment to promoting blind football and creating inclusive spaces where persons with disabilities can thrive, not just in Nigeria, but across Africa.

Because sometimes, all it takes is a simple act to spark joy, build confidence, and remind someone that they are seen, supported,
and capable.
