SLANG Global promotes Spanish language & Afro-Latin heritage from the USA, Latin America, and the Caribbean in Nigeria. The Association for Spanish Language Advancement in Nigeria or SLANG Global formally opens its headquarters in Enugu, Enugu State in October, 2022. We will facilitate programs to promote the learning of Spanish language and cultures in Nigeria and foster awareness and understandi
ng of the Spanish-speaking African Diaspora of Latin America and the Caribbean. The organization will establish intercultural and educational exchanges between Nigeria and the Afro-Latin Diaspora of Latin America and the Caribbean, and use the platform to empower women and girls in the Igbo-speaking regions of Nigeria.

SLANG Global acquired the property in the Ogui area of Enugu, at No. 23 Ogidi Street. Providentially, the name “Ogidi” connects SLANG Global to the world-renowned Nigerian novelist Chinua Achebe (1930-2013) who was born in the town of Ogidi in Anambra State. The location of SLANG Global at Ogidi Street imagines a sacred anointment for the continued dispersal of Igbo culture throughout the world, and explicitly to the Spanish-speaking regions of Latin America and the Caribbean.
