The Rotaract Club of Aguata Central, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Nnewi, Rotaract Club of NAUTH, Rotaract Club of Nnewi, and the Standing Committee on Public Health, successfully organized a World AIDS Day 2025 Outreach in partnership with NiMSA SCOPH and the Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi).
The outreach, held on 2nd December 2025 at Nnewi Roundabout and Eke Amaobi, aligned with the global theme:
“Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response.”
The event kicked off with a sensitization walk aimed at raising community awareness on HIV prevention, reducing stigma, and emphasizing the importance of early testing. Trained health volunteers led interactive sessions, educating residents on HIV transmission, treatment options, and available support systems.
A major highlight of the outreach was the free health check, HIV testing, and counselling exercise, which provided 250 residents the opportunity to know their status and receive professional guidance in a confidential and supportive environment.
The project witnessed strong community participation and made a meaningful impact by promoting healthier lifestyles and strengthening HIV awareness within Community.

On the 18th of October, history was made as the Rotaract Club Of Aguata Central - CB held its long-awaited Presidential Installation Ceremony, officially installing Rtr. Gilbert Chinedum as the 6th President of the club. The event marked the formal handover of leadership and the beginning of a new era in our club’s journey of service, growth, and impact.

Though this ceremony symbolized the official transition of leadership, the President and his Board of Directors had already begun implementing meaningful community projects—initiatives that have positively impacted our local environment and reflect the global ideals of Rotary International.

After a two-year hiatus, the installation event exceeded all expectations, rekindling the spirit of fellowship and commitment to service that defines Rotaract. Indeed, this marks a new beginning for the Rotaract Club of Aguata Central.

A major highlight of the day was the presentation of the Visionary Leadership Award to the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike (Ezeakunne), in recognition of his unwavering dedication to youth development and exemplary leadership within the society.

In his acceptance speech, President Rtr. Gilbert Chinedum reaffirmed his commitment to:
✅ Enhancing the club’s community impact
✅ Sustaining and expanding membership
✅ Promoting the values and standards of Rotary and Rotaract across Aguata and beyond

Here’s to a new season of service, leadership, and transformation! 💫
