CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF SERVICE, FELLOWSHIP, AND IMPACT.

Today marks a remarkable milestone in the history of our great club, the celebration of 30 years of unwavering commitment to service above self, meaningful fellowship, and lasting community impact.

For three decades, the *Rotaract Club of Federal Polytechnic Ede* has stood as a beacon of hope, leadership, and purposeful action. From our humble beginnings to becoming a force for positive change, we have consistently upheld the ideals of Rotary, serving humanity, fostering peace, and empowering the next generation of leaders.

This anniversary is not just a celebration of time, but a celebration of people, our past leaders whose vision laid the foundation, our dedicated members whose passion sustains our mission, and our partners whose support amplifies our impact. Every project executed, every life touched, and every bond formed is a testament to the strength and resilience of our Rotaract family.

As we reflect on our journey, we are reminded that the legacy we celebrate today is also a responsibility. Today, we shine a spotlight on one of the most powerful tools in the fight against diabetes: Prevention.

Diabetes might not always be avoidable, especially when it’s genetically inherited, but in many cases especially Type 2, it can be prevented or delayed with simple lifestyle changes.

Here are some key tips we’ll be sharing today:
✅ Eat a balanced, healthy diet
✅ Stay physically active
✅ Maintain a healthy weight
✅ Avoid to***co and limit alcohol
✅ Go for regular health checkups

💔 Heart & Blood Vessels: Increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and poor circulation.

👁 Eyes: Can lead to diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and even blindness.

🧠 Nerves (Neuropathy): Causes numbness, tingling, and pain, especially in the hands and feet.

🩸 Kidneys (Nephropathy): Diabetes is one of the leading causes of kidney failure.

🦶 Feet: Poor circulation and nerve damage can lead to infections and even amputations.

In Commemoration of Rotary’s Disease Prevention and Treatment Month 💙💉

In a world where diabetes continues to silently claim lives, awareness is our first line of defense. This December, the *Rotaract Club of Federal Polytechnic Ede* is taking a bold step to educate, inspire, and encourage healthier living through a 7-day online project dedicated to Diabetes Awareness and Prevention.

For 7 days, 7 passionate voices will be speaking on different aspects of diabetes from causes and symptoms to prevention, management, and lifestyle tips. It's not just a campaign, it’s a call to action for everyone to take charge of their health and be informed.

PROJECT TITLE: Exam Welfare Package

AREA OF FOCUS: Supporting Education & Club Service

In a bid to support members during the ongoing examination period, the Rotaract Club of Federal Polytechnic Ede executed a thoughtful project tagged "Exam Welfare Package" on Tuesday, November 19, 2025. The initiative aimed at boosting morale and showing solidarity with our members during this demanding academic phase.

The project featured the distribution of foodstuffs and care packages to club members at the Rotaract Bus-Stop inside the campus, beginning at exactly 2:00 PM. The gesture was warmly received and appreciated by members who turned up.

We sincerely appreciate our Club Treasurer, (Rtr Hamzat Wasiu Ajadi), for generously funding the project. Special thanks also go to our Club Secretary, Rtr (Owolabi Inioluwa Rachael), and Rtr Oneh Victor Oluwaseun, for their kind contributions and unwavering support. Their combined efforts truly reflect the spirit of service and community that defines Rotaract.

This act of kindness and unity continues to strengthen the bond within the club while encouraging academic excellence and well-being.

WORLD POLIO DAY AWARENESS TREK REPORT

Date: Friday, 24th October, 2025
Venue: Freedom Park, Osogbo, Osun State

In commemoration of World Polio Day, the Rotaract Club of Federal Polytechnic Ede joined Rotarians and other Rotaractors across Osun State in a unified *Polio Awareness Trek to reinforce the global message of a polio-free world.

The convergence point was Freedom Park, Osogbo, where participants gathered in branded attire, holding placards with bold messages such as “End Polio Now”*, *“We Are This Close”, and “Together, We Can Eradicate Polio”.

The awareness trek covered major routes within Osogbo to sensitise the public on the need for continued vaccination and global support towards polio eradication.

The participation of our club reflected our ongoing commitment to Rotary International’s fight against polio and demonstrated our passion for service beyond our immediate community.

Together, we move closer to a Polio-free world.
