Burden for the Week: The Divine Expectation
Text: Luke 1:35, 1 Cor 3:13-15
As we gradually approach the end of this month, we will take inference from our first anchor scripture in Luke 1:35. Something interesting happens in this account. However, the Lord is drawing our attention specifically to the aftermath of birthing.
The Angel did not only expose Mary to the incubating process, but he expressly communicated heaven's expectations over the incubation and birthing process. He said, _" ...That holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."_ That is, make no mistake about it, this is what we expect at the end of this journey!
Many take in with one thing and deliver another thing at the end. Indeed, many have eternal seeds on their inside but have misappropriated it for their own ambitions, and so what they've birthed is NOT the "son of God." God is showing us this week how interested He is about both the process and the ultimate result.
We must check our lives this week. What started off as an overshadowing of the Holy Ghost but has birthed personal ambitions and not "...the son of God" in your life?
What began as hunger, passion, and drive for a sincere walk with the Lord but has become mere performance devoid of the Holy Ghost's gene?
It is my prayer that this week, we will introspect and allow the Holy Ghost to run through all that we've birthed and are still birthing and open our eyes to see that which meets divine expectations. May He redirect our hearts where needed to the divine expectations over our lives. Amen.
