YOSEPA General Manager Joins NYSC Corps Members in Emir Palace Clean-Up Initiative.
The General Manager, Yobe State Environmental Protection Agency (YOSEPA), Sanitarian Baba Gana Modu participated in a collaborative clean-up exercise at the Emir Palace in Damaturu today.
The event has organized by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Environmental and Sanitation Community Development Service (CDS) group, led by its President, Ms. Dawat Joan Kyermun
The General Manager represented at the today's exercise by the Environmental Health officer of the agency, Mustapha Modu, joined NYSC corps members in the sanitation drive.
In a statement,
Sanitarian Modu praised the NYSC CDS group for their proactive efforts. “Initiatives like this reflect the spirit of communal responsibility and environmental stewardship. YOSEPA remains committed to supporting youth-led programs that align with our mandate to safeguard public health and ensure a cleaner Yobe State"
He further urged residents to adopt sustainable waste management practices to combat recurring sanitation challenges.
Ms. Dawat Joan Kyermun, President of the NYSC Environmental and Sanitation CDS group, expressed her gratitude to YOSEPA for its partnership. “We deeply appreciate the agency’s involvement, which has significantly bolstered the impact of today’s exercise. The clean-up initiative underscores growing efforts to address environmental health concerns in Damaturu, a region grappling with waste management infrastructure gaps.
The Emir Palace, a cultural and administrative landmark, was selected for its symbolic value to inspire broader community participation in sanitation activities.
