International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action — 2026.

On this day, CPWEI reaffirms its commitment to communities across Northeast Nigeria who continue to face the dangers of Explosive Ordnance and explosive remnants of war.

As a women-led organisation delivering protection and risk education at the community level, we recognise the devastating impact these threats have on children, women, and vulnerable populations, restricting access to education and livelihoods, and endangering lives during everyday activities.

Through our EORE interventions, community engagement, and coordination with mine action partners, we remain committed to empowering communities with life-saving knowledge and supporting pathways to recovery.

Coordination reduces risk. Through shared standards, joint surveys, and integrated clearance efforts, every partner must act as one; because effective coordination saves lives and enables lasting recovery.

We call on all stakeholders, implementing partners, and donors to sustain and expand collective efforts in survey, clearance, and support for survivors across affected communities.

A mine-free Nigeria is not just a goal but a necessity for peace, protection, and sustainable development.

Happy International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action .
