Women must have equal opportunities — in education, employment, leadership and decision-making.

When women thrive, communities and economies do too.

Over 83 million people are internally displaced, showing that most displacement happens within countries, not across borders.

Our World Migration Report looks at what is driving these trends and what sustainable solutions look like.

When crises strike and systems collapse, midwives step up — delivering essential sexual, reproductive, maternal and newborn health services that save lives. Whether during climate disasters or conflict, midwives are often the first — and sometimes only — responders for women.

On Tuesday’s Day of the Midwife, join UNFPA in thanking midwives around the world for their important mission.

The first signs are often right in front of us, hidden in plain sight. When words like these connect, they tell a deeper story. Stay aware, speak up, and help break the chain.

Congratulations to the Coordinator of Youth Torch Initiative (YoTI) on emerging as one of the members of the West African Advisory Council of World Citizen Peace. This recognition honors your passion for community development and your advocacy for rights, and it positions YoTI to amplify peace from the grassroots to the regional stage. With your leadership, we can model how young people nurture peace that includes displaced persons, migrants, and host communities alike.

Let us promote peaceful coexistence through the five Peace Actions of World Citizen Peace in our communities.

1. Seek peace within yourself: Heal trauma, practice no stigma or discrimination, and extend that compassion to both bio and non-bio children.

2. Reach out in service: Create shared projects where displaced persons and hosts work side by side, building trust through action.

3. Protect the environment: A clean market, safe water, and restored land reduce conflict over scarce resources and give every family dignity.

4. Respect diversity: Celebrate languages, faiths, and cultures as strengths that make our communities whole.

5. Be a responsible citizen: Uphold rights, promote gender mainstreaming, and hold space for dialogue so every voice is heard.

When we live these actions, we turn 'Imagine into reality: all the people, sharing all the world, living life in peace.

Victims of human trafficking are often coerced into online scams or drug smuggling by organized crime. Over 8% of all victims are forced to commit criminal acts.

Ending the exploitation starts with not punishing victims for crimes they were forced to commit.

IMAGINE. BY JOHN LENNON 🎵

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living live for today

Imagine there's no Country
It's not hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will live as one

Imagine there's no possession
I wonder if you can
No need for greed and hunger
A brotherhood of humanity
Imagine all the people, sharing all the world.

He wrote and sang it — released in 1971 on his album _Imagine_. John Lennon co-produced it with Phil Spector and Yoko Ono.

The song became one of the most famous anthems for peace, unity, and a world without divisions.

Lennon himself said it was "virtually the Communist Manifesto," but also a positive vision — imagining a world with no borders, no greed, no hunger, and people living as one.

Today’s generation of adolescents and young people is the largest the world has ever seen.

By removing the barriers they face — for instance gender inequality and limited access to health services — we can help them build a brighter future.

See how UNFPA is helping them thrive: https://unf.pa/aay

HAPPY EASTER!

As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, let's embrace the values of love, compassion, and unity. For displaced persons, migrants, and host communities, let's strive for peaceful coexistence. By welcoming and supporting one another, we create a harmonious environment where everyone thrinks.

Gender mainstreaming is key to this harmony. Let's ensure no one faces stigma or discrimination. Respect diversity in all its forms, and let's work together to maintain a clean environment for all. This Easter, let's commit to building bridges, not walls.

Together, we can foster a community where everyone feels valued and respected. Happy Easter!
