In partnership with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), JCC Cross River State, YALI Network Cross River State proudly joined the Drug-Free Campus Movement, and our members turned up in great numbers to lend their voices to this important cause.

From start to finish, the energy, unity, and commitment displayed by YALIans was truly inspiring. This is what leadership looks like, standing for impact, advocating for change, and choosing a better future for our campuses and communities.

Yesterday was more than just an outreach it was a powerful moment of connection, learning, and transformation.

As the Young African Leaders Initiative Network Cross River State Hub, in partnership with the American Chemical Society Cross River State Chapter, we had the privilege of engaging amazing students at the University of Calabar International Demonstration Secondary School through our YALI4Schools Outreach in commemoration of International Women's Day.

From inspiring conversations to meaningful mentorship, and addressing critical issues like period poverty and personal hygiene, it was truly a day of impact and purpose.

We are proud of the lives touched, the seeds planted, and the future leaders we connected with.

📢 OFFICIAL PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The Young African Leaders Initiative Network Cross River State Hub, in partnership with the American Chemical Society Women Chemists Committee, Cross River State, is proud to present YALI4Schools 2026, an outreach program in commemoration of International Women's Day.

📍 Venue: University of Calabar International Demonstration Secondary School
📅 Date: 27th March 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM Prompt

This initiative will inspire and empower students through mentorship, exposure to opportunities in education, leadership, and STEM fields.
However, beyond mentorship, we are also addressing a critical challenge affecting young girls — period poverty and personal hygiene.

By providing sanitary pads and essential toiletries, we aim to ensure that no girl’s education or scientific dream is hindered by the lack of basic necessities. When these barriers are removed, young girls are able to focus on their studies, pursue their ambitions, and fully realize their potential.

Through this effort, we hope to bridge existing gaps and dismantle barriers preventing young girls from thriving in education and STEM, transforming aspirations into achievements.
