Another day to remind you that...
You will make mistakes.
You will trust the wrong people.
You will make poor decisions.
You will have seasons where you don't recognize yourself.

But don't allow your mistakes to become your identity.

Learn. Heal. Adjust. Grow. Start again.

There is something I admire about most men, when a man feels he is not ready for marriage, he won't bow to pressure.

You can see a man who is not financially ready and still trying to find his feet, choose to remain unmarried even into his forties or even fifties because he knows he is not ready to start a home.

But most times, we women do the opposite.
We get married without a source of income, without a skill, without financial stability, and sometimes without even being emotionally prepared for what marriage demands. Then we enter marriage and begin to struggle with the very things we should have prepared for.

Society sometimes puts unnecessary pressure on young women with statements like, “Don't wait too long; menopause is coming.” But menopause is not something a woman in her twenties needs to use as a reason to rush into marriage.

They call you the home manager, how do you intend to run the daily activities of your home without funds, or having to beg for every single thing you need.

We need to learn from the men.

Before you say, “I do,” learn a skill. Learn how to make your own money. Become financially responsible. Prepare yourself emotionally. Don't be scared of mistakes while building yourself, learn from them, and grow.

Don't just prepare to become someone's wife, prepare to become a woman who is ready for the life she is praying for.

In a society in which everyone has an opinion about you, and anyone can easily pass judgment on you. A society where you are always at the receiving end, I wish more women understood the importance of preparing adequately for every stage of life.

When I say "No income, no marriage for the woman or girl child," I'm thinking beyond the wedding day.

No parent prays for their daughter's marriage to fail, but wise parents prepare their daughters for life, not just for marriage.

An income is not a backup plan for divorce. It's a foundation for confidence, growth, resilience and the option of choice in every season of life.

A loving husband is concerned when you don't earn. He cares about your growth, your confidence, and your future.

If you have no source of income, is not working, and is completely dependent on him, a loving husband will be concerned. He will encourage you to learn a skill, start a business, or find a job. He will support you emotionally, financially, and practically because he wants to see you thrive.

But if he is not bothered by your total dependence, constantly frustrates your efforts to work, discourages you from learning a skill or starting a business, or makes you feel guilty or ashamed whenever you ask for money, those are warning signs.

No income, no marriage! Not because marriage is all about money, but because every woman deserves the dignity of having the opportunity to earn, grow, be confident and make great choices.

For your own good, never give up your ability to earn.

When I speak to you, I am speaking to myself too, because I am a woman just like you.

We all pray for beautiful marriages, peaceful homes, and the grace to raise wonderful children. Those prayers matter, but so does the work we do on ourselves.

At the end of the day, what will truly speak for us are the things we have built with our own hands the name we have earned, the value we have added to ourselves, the business we have nurtured, the career we have developed, and the lives we have impacted.

As wives and mothers, we pour so much of ourselves into our husbands and children. We love deeply, we sacrifice willingly, and we give endlessly. It's right, because it's our first ministry. But in the midst of giving to everyone else, let us not forget to give something to ourselves too.

Build yourself while you build your home.
Grow yourself while you nurture your family.
Become the woman your children will admire and your husband will be proud to stand beside.

Become that woman whose life tells a story with a happy ending long after the children are grown.

Dear Woman,

You are not alone on this journey.

Whenever you feel confused, pause, take a deep breath, pray, and think again. You don't have to figure everything out today. Sometimes, a good night's sleep brings the clarity you've been searching for.

When the weight of life feels too heavy, give yourself permission to rest. Taking time to care for yourself isn't selfish, it's necessary.

You spend so much time caring for everyone else, but remember, if you're not strong enough, you won't be able to pour into others.

Take care of yourself too. You matter.
