It’s been 2 years since Blessed was reunited back with his family, over the past year + he has been learning furniture making and has made significant progress with his skills. Come September 2026, he would be joining our Back to School Scholarship program.

When we met Blessed in 2024 during one of our street corners, he had been living on the streets for over a year. Countless efforts had been made to take him back but he still ended up on the streets after a short while. His parents were separated at the time and he stayed with his paternal grandmother. Due to his constant relapse to the streets, his family had lost hope in him completely.

When we stepped into the situation, after series of counseling and Blessed finally accepting to go home, our biggest obstacle became his grandmother accepting him back. It wasn’t an easy feat because a particular lady who happens to be a neighbor kept trying to convince the grandmother not to accept him back that he wouldn’t change but through the help of another neighbor(A male figure in the compound) we were able to convince his grandmother as to why we should all join efforts to oversee Blessed’s stay at home. In the end, motherly love won and Blessed was accepted back home.

This is what community and consistency makes possible in line with street corners.

They called them a problem. We see them as people.
This video holds two views at once , what the government/society sees, and what we see every time we show up.

These children are not a nuisance to be cleared from the streets. They are children who laugh, learn, trust, and grow when someone decides they are worth the effort.

The March 19th incident was a failure of policy.
We are calling on the government and every well meaning individual who has ever walked past a child on the street to demand better.
Rehabilitation, not removal. Protect, not punish.

We’re looking for Case Managers who are ready to step into the lives of children on the streets not with pity, but with purpose. People who can listen, act, protect, and walk the long road of reintegration with care and consistency.

This role demands compassion, resilience, and the courage to show up when it matters most.

If you believe every child deserves safety, dignity, and a real chance at the future, then this is your moment to be part of that change.

Every child deserves a real chance at life, at good health, and at a future they can see themselves in.

Through transformative programs, access to education, health and welfare support, and advocacy that refuses to be quiet, we are building a community that provides a safe space for children living on the streets to reach their full potential.

This is the work and it needs all of us to make it happen.

April 10th, 2026 was a defining point in our community. We all marched with one voice and one goal and we are grateful for every single person who stood with us on the streets of Calabar. This doesn’t happen everyday but this is a step in the right direction towards building an all inclusive community that focuses on positive rehabilitation of vulnerable children.

We walked for them ❤️.

For the child who has a name, a laugh, a story, a future that belongs to them entirely. For the children living on the streets of Calabar who are too often seen as a problem to be rid of and not a person to be loved.

On April 10th, they were not invisible. They stood with us, walked among us, celebrated by us, protected by us.
This is why we exist. This is why we will not stop.

We came from different points with one ultimate goal .
On April 10th, the streets of Calabar were not just a route, they became the very foundations of our statement.

Advocates, child rights defenders, volunteers, and community members across different organizations and groups gathered for a single cause.
One that required our voice and strength.

We are grateful for not just your presence, but your show of courage and for standing on the gap with us as we continue to advocate for better rehabilitation processes for children living on the streets.

Salute to our community ❤️🫡
