On Friday, 26th July 2026, the National Association of Akwa-Ibom Medical Students - University of Calabar Chapter (NAAKIMS-UCC) successfully executed a community health and educational outreach at Government Secondary School, Akim, Calabar.
This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between medical knowledge and adolescent development, providing students with essential tools for physical well-being and academic guidance.
Key Discussion Areas
Our team of medical students facilitated interactive sessions covering four critical pillars:
-S*x Education:
-Menstrual Hygiene:
-Career Choices:
-Oral Health:
We distributed essential health and hygiene relief materials to students to support their daily well-being.
As a gesture of our commitment to academic continuity, NAAKIMS-UCC took the responsibility of sponsoring the third-term school fees for two students.
The outreach was met with positive reception from both the staff and the student body of Government Secondary School Akim. This event reaffirms our dedication to community service and the advocacy of public health beyond the university walls.
We look forward to building on this momentum for future outreach programs.
