Behind Every Grant Is a Team That Believes in the Next Generation.
Every year, as we open applications for the Undergraduate Heritage Research Grant (UHRG), we are reminded that creating meaningful opportunities for young researchers takes more than an idea. It takes a community of people willing to give their time, expertise, and energy.
As we close the 3rd application cycle and begin looking ahead to the 4th, we want to pause and celebrate the incredible people who made this edition possible.
To our judges Mohammed Ya’u Ibrahim, Zainab Dayo POPOOLA, and Favour Munachimso Anosike, thank you for generously giving your time and expertise to carefully review the applications and help us ensure that merit, fairness, and academic potential remained at the heart of our selection process. Your commitment to supporting emerging scholars means so much to us.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Hope Adebare, whose meticulous work in compiling the applications was instrumental to the process, and to Emmanuel Egbo, for managing the application portal and ensuring that the technical side of the process ran smoothly.
And to the entire Heritage Actors Hub family (Ayogu Cyprain Chidibem Chukwubuikem Stephen Onwuameze, Joshua Ugwu, Chiamaka Chukwuma, Samuel Udedibia, Chimeremeze Okam), thank you. From the resources invested to the ideas shared, the encouragement given, and the many behind-the-scenes efforts that often go unseen, this grant would not be what it is without you.
The UHRG is more than a grant. It is our contribution to nurturing young researchers, championing academic excellence, strengthening the educational experience of students, and creating pathways for the next generation of heritage and archaeology scholars.
To everyone who played a part in this year's journey, thank you for believing in the vision.
Here’s to the 3rd edition, the scholars whose journeys we have supported, and to an even bigger and better 4th application cycle.
Together, we continue to build a stronger future for heritage, archaeology, education, and research.
