As much as I will always support you my dear Senator Asuquo Ekpeyong, I won't stop reminding you that your immediate political Ward does not have anything to remember that they have you or anyone else up there as a political representative.
I have done my best to consistently speak this singular truth to you personally, yet no positive response or action; and now, I have to go further to lament on various public platforms hoping that you will see and remember the saying that "charity begins at home."
Like I've always said, everything is not politics; even if it were, I'm also aware of the saying that politics is a game of interest. So if I were you, I will devote this God given opportunity to invest so much and restructure Eniong-Abatim communities as a whole, because charity they say begins at home and no one knows tomorrow.
I'm sure you can see what Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio did in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district. Please try and take a careful tour around his Senatorial district and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Eniong-Abatim communities including your once popular Asang-Eniong village that was known for it's pride of place looking back to the Nigeria history and her role in both Christianity, migration and the birth of other Eniong-Abatim villages like Ntanobu Ukpe and even our personalities that we will forever remember for always standing tall amongst other Efik families. Sincerely Asang-Eniong have lost it's glory, there's nothing to behold right now and in the entire Eniong-Abatim political Ward. I must say it's pitiable and also very shameful for us and our children and unborn children.
Truth be told, I'm always jealous of good things especially for my own people, hence my persistence and insistence for your kind consideration to prioritise the development of Eniong-Abatim communities, because there's no place like home.
Please take this message seriously: just like every other politician you've ever known or heard of, your time will come and go irrespective of how many times you return as a Senator, money and fame will come and go as well, friends, business associates, partners; political tour within and outside the shores of Nigeria, including all manner of engagements, will come and go one day, but only your name will be remembered; either for the good you did for Eniong-Abatim people or the abandonment of your own first family: Eniong-Abatim.
This is not an insult but a humble appeal to you again and again because your people in:
- Ntanobu community
- Asang-Eniong,
- Ikot Offiong Ebiti,
- Obio-usuere,
- Atan-Onoyom,
- Obot-Akpabio
Are all suffering Sir.
The displaced people of Ikot Offiong Ebiti community are still roaming in strange lands with no hope of gaining back their ancestral land despite court ruling in their favour, our proud and courageous people of Ntanobu community, who have resisted, fought and survived all forms of intimidations and communal conflicts, are still struggling to rebuild their homes that were destroyed and burnt🔥, with no support from any level of government in Nigeria.
- No drinking water
- No electricity
- No access road network
- Not even a primary health centre
- No support to indigenes for any form of business.
With all the personalities that we have today politically in Odukpani.
Sincerely, I feel ashamed.
