The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Cross River Branch, successfully commemorated the 2026 World Red Cross Day under the theme “United for Humanity.”

Activities carried out included a tree planting exercise across Calabar South and Calabar Municipal Divisions to promote environmental sustainability and community responsibility. The celebration also featured an impressive parade by Red Cross School Units, alongside educational talks on First Aid and Emergency Response Coordination aimed at strengthening preparedness and humanitarian awareness within communities.

The event brought together Red Cross volunteers, government agencies, schools, community members, and other stakeholders in demonstrating commitment to humanity, volunteerism, and climate action.

✨ World Cleanup Day 2025 ✨

On 20th September 2025, we joined millions worldwide to mark World Cleanup Day with a massive community cleanup in Calabar, alongside Plogging Nigeria & the University of Calabar Youth Friendly Hub.

💪 From clearing waste and sorting recyclables to restoring a dumpsite, we proved that 5% effort from each of us can inspire 95% change.

🌱 The message is clear: Every day can be a cleanup day if we all play our part.

💚 Let’s and build a cleaner, healthier, sustainable future!
