International Day of the Girl Child Message
Today, we join the world to celebrate the strength, resilience, and dreams of every girl child. At Achievers Centre for Community Development Initiative (ACCDI), we believe that every girl deserves more than care and protection — she deserves a voice, choice, and space to lead.

As we mark this day, I, Ambassador Ukorebi Esien, reaffirm my commitment to building a society where girls are safe, educated, and empowered to shape their own destinies. When we invest in girls, we invest in a peaceful and prosperous future for all.

Next Steps – Coming Together for Peace

Joint Dialogue and ADR Training
What’s Next in the Peace Process?

A Joint Peace Dialogue Session facilitated by Amb. Ukorebi Esien and Efio-Ita Nyok PhD (charted mediators) was the next major step in our process bringing both Ofatura and Ovonum to the table to share their hopes, fears, and commitments to peace.
We believe in collective healing.
We believe in collaborative solutions.

The road to sustainable peace continues with two major next steps:

A joint dialogue session between Ofatura and Ovonum to foster reconciliation
Capacity-building training on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and peacebuilding strategies for stakeholders

P4P believes that peace is more than a meeting, it’s a mindset, a skill, and a shared responsibility.

Hon. Edema Irom and Hon. Jonson Ebekpo Jnr. respectively, who aside manning very crucial ministries often neglected in the peacebuilding processes are indigenes of Obubra LGA. the Team also visited His Royal Majesty, Patrick Erong, the Kudiden of Adun kingdom

These visits were aimed at fostering community ownership of the peace process and gathering insights for inclusive dialogue. Their commitment to supporting dialogue and reconciliation has strengthened the foundation for peace.

We believe true peace starts with listening

Restoring Peace in Ofatura and Ovonum (2024)

For years, the communities of Ofatura and Ovonum in Obubra LGA, Cross River State, have been torn apart by boundary disputes and disrupted livelihoods. The violent outbreak in 2023, which tragically claimed several lives, destroyed properties, and displaced over 300 households, underscored the urgent need for intervention.

In response, Partners for Peace - Cross River P4P, in collaboration with leaders of the youth council of Nigeria (NYCN), Cross River State Chapter, visited both communities to initiate peacebuilding efforts.

The delegation, led by Ukorebi Esien immediate past State Coordinator of P4P, and Comrade Daniel Obo, immediate past NYCN Chairman, engaged both communities in meaningful discussions toward healing and reconciliation.

We also embarked on a radio talkshow on The Dialogue with Agba Jalingo hosted by Jonathan Ubgal
The journey to peace is challenging, but with committed hearts and inclusive dialogue, hope remains alive.
