Great organizations are built by teams that never stop learning.

As part of our commitment to excellence, AWA Initiatives conducted an internal professional development session for our Communication Officer on strategic communications, digital storytelling, content design, Canva, and the effective use of AI tools to enhance our advocacy and community engagement.

"Don't tell anyone."

It's a sentence many people hear not because they have done something wrong, but because someone else has.

Sometimes, the pressure to protect a family's image comes at the cost of someone's safety.

Gender-Based Violence is nott always physical. It can appear as controlling behaviour, emotional manipulation, financial abuse, intimidation, or constant fear.

Creating safer communities begins with recognizing these forms of violence and choosing empathy over silence.

Let's talk: What do you think prevents many people from speaking up about abuse; fear, stigma, lack of support, or something else?

🚩 Not every red flag is obvious.

Gender-based violence often begins with subtle behaviours we dismiss as "normal" or "out of love."

But recognizing these signs early can help prevent harm and promote healthier relationships.

In today's Red Flag | Green Flag series, we are exploring respect, what it looks like, and what it doesn't.

πŸ‘‰ Swipe through, learn the signs, and tell us:
What does respect look like to you in a healthy relationship?

πŸ’¬ Share your thoughts in the comments.

Many men have mastered the art of saying β€œI’m fine” while carrying burdens no one sees.

This Men's Mental Health Month, let's remind the men around us that strength is not suffering in silence. Strength is speaking up, being vulnerable, and asking for help when life becomes overwhelming.

Check on your fathers, brothers, husbands, sons, friends, and colleagues. Ask twice. Listen longer.

Strong men need support too. πŸ’™

Period poverty continues to affect the health, education, and dignity of many girls and women.

On Menstrual Health and Hygiene Day, we asked students a simple but important question: What can governments, organizations, and individuals do to reduce period poverty? Here's what students have to say.

From the voices of students, one message is clear: everyone has a role to play in ending period poverty.
